CONTENT GUIDELINES:
1.) All content should be unique/exclusive to The Novel Approach and must be emailed to me at thenovelapproach@gmail.com a minimum of 48 hours prior to your scheduled visit in order to secure your booking (this busy mom is forever grateful for early content! But I also understand when circumstances beyond your control can derail your best laid plans. If your content will be late, please just email me and let me know.)
2.) Content should be sent in the form of a Word document (or compatible format), which should include your article, the blurb for your book (when applicable), buy links, any excerpts you’d like to include, giveaway/contest details (when applicable), your author bio and social media links. Any images (owned by you or free of copyright), including your cover image, should be attached to the email as a .jpg/.png file
3.) I’m more than happy to chat about blog topics with you if you need some ideas. My usual suggestions when stuck for topics are those dealing with the books themselves: inspirations and character discussions; favorite scenes and how/why they became your favorite; if you could be one of the characters in your book, who would you be and why; who would you cast to play your characters if your book were being made into a movie, etc.
When I was in ad sales, I had a manager who used to love over-using the old Elmer Wheeler adage, “Don’t sell the steak, sell the sizzle.” Your book is the steak–on the surface it looks like every other book. What’s inside is the sizzle, and that’s unique to only you, and that’s what we want to sell. :) It’s all about engagement–you don’t get a second chance to engage readers for the first time, so make your content count.
4.) Giveaways: they are never mandatory though are greatly appreciated by readers, and I’m always happy to facilitate one for you either via Rafflecopter or comment-to-enter methods
