You know when you are standing in the shower, trying to get your body to wake up? That is when I decided I needed to write. I had begun reading short, free stories on Fanfiction and once I found M/M, I was hooked. Among the terrible stories I read, every once in a while I’d come across a real gem; a person who knew how to paint me a picture of the characters. The more I read, the less well-written stories I could find. I moaned to someone that I was sick of all the crap I was reading and wished I could find a new author. He told me if I was unhappy with what was available, maybe I should write my own story. After laughing my butt off I dropped it and continued to find stories to read. One day I found a story and was impressed that the author had thousands of reviews and followers. I thought it must be a great story and dived right in. By the end of chapter three I wanted to throw the computer out the window. I didn’t go near the site for a few weeks.

I’d always had a vivid imagination growing up and would often come up with ideas in my head, but that is where they stayed. In the shower that morning, it felt like if Jacob didn’t get out of my head I would explode. I sat at my laptop in only a towel and the first chapter was written. It was crap, but it was out of my head and I felt much better. It took another week or two for me to publish it – without a beta – and boy could you tell. I got a few likes and a couple of reviews. Wow, talk about being a happy camper. My story began to grow and every now and again I would post a chapter. I had offers of betas and quickly agreed to let someone fix my work.

Then a fan asked if I would like to join a group on Facebook, where other slash writers talked and shared their work. Quickly agreeing, I set up an account and made new friends. There, I met the generousand talented Bob Loving. She soon became my beta and made my little story a lot better. She encouraged me and taught me what she knew, and we talked about me trying to publish.

I of course laughed it off until one day, a submission call came out and Bob told me about it. As much as I wanted to not go there, I did, and my first published story, No Worries Mate, was born. That was the beginning of my journey into the publishing world. Now, I can’t see me ever getting rid of these people in my head, but I can share them with the world and know I’m not going bonkers on my own.

Now I wish I had time to read more. There are never enough hours in the day. Each day I learn something new and wonderful about writing a story. My characters have their own voices that come to life on the screen, setting them free and content and ready to take flight. And all this because of one person who told me to write my own story. To this day I look at my brother and thank him for showing me just how amazing writing can be.

Thanks, Alex. Always and forever, bro.

On his last night in New Zealand, the barman he’s lusted after for so long decides to make sure Tamati won’t easily forget him.
Talk about bad timing….

His flight to London is certainly memorable, especially when a very rich Arab makes Tamati an offer that he’d be a fool to turn down. And when he accepts it, what he encounters is a very memorable time indeed, spent with a sexy man and a host of new friends.

His trip is off to a very interesting start. One thing Tamati didn’t bargain on was losing his heart…
