Your Privacy Is Important to Us
Certain visitors to The Novel Approach (TNA) choose to interact with TNA and its guests in ways that require the site to gather information. The amount and type of information that The Novel Approach gathers depends on the nature of the interaction: for example, when we ask visitors who comment on our blog for the purpose of entering a giveaway to provide an email address. Those who are contacting TNA for professional reasons (i.e. a Request for Review, a Guest Spot Request, or to purchase Advertising) may be asked to provide further information pursuant to the request.
Those who wish to receive site updates via email are welcome to register to do so, but it is not a requirement of participating in the site. In each case, The Novel Approach collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with TNA. The Novel Approach does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below with reference to giveaways. Visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities (i.e. giveaways).
A few basic principles we subscribe to are as follows:
- As stated above, you need not be a registered user of the site to comment on reviews, author content or to participate in giveaways we host here at The Novel Approach. Information such as user names, email addresses, and IP addresses are, however, stored by the WordPress platform when a comment is posted. When entering giveaways, your email address will be collected for the purpose of, and only for the purpose of, winner notification and prize delivery by the author, the author’s designated representative, or The Novel Approach.
- The Novel Approach will never, under any circumstances, share your name or email address without your consent*.
- The Novel Approach will never, under any circumstances, share your name or email address with third parties in exchange for goods, services, or for monetary gain.
- TNA uses the Google Analytics service to track website traffic, which may use cookies*.
- TNA uses third party plugins* in the day-to-day operation of the site, including all Contact Forms. As such, the developers of those plugins may collect and store information of users and commenters.
The Novel Approach does not profit from Affiliate programs (i.e. Amazon Affiliate buy links). The sidebar advertising is an agreement entered into between the participating author and The Novel Approach, and as such no user/visitor information is gathered for the purpose of targeting or customizing those ads.

*Cookies: A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. WordPress/TNA uses cookies to track visitors, their usage of The Novel Approach’s website, and the user’s website access preferences. TNA visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before entering the site.
*Plugin: A software plugin is an add-on for a program that adds functionality to it.
*Consent: Entering a giveaway is implied consent by the user/visitor to share your email address with the author providing the prize, if, and only if, selected as the winner.
