Blurb: Anderson Stables: Book Two

When Vincent Anderson returns from eight months in Florida helping his dad train racehorses, he expects a peaceful homecoming. But the initial happiness over the reunion with his boyfriend Dustin doesn’t last long. Chris, a disgruntled stable hand, causes a riding accident that sends Dustin to the hospital—then Chris disappears.

The fear of Chris’s return hovers over the stable like a dark cloud while Vince and Dustin build their relationship and Vince works with his own horse, Xander, to begin trying for the United States Olympic equestrian team. The competition becomes the last of Vince’s concerns when Chris shows up at the barn brandishing a gun and demanding money. Vince faces his former employee alone, and what happens next changes everything.

Dividers

Review: If you’re like me and love a sexy cowboy book (let’s face it we all do), but are starting to get sick of the clichés and repetitiveness of this genre, then By Blood is probably something you would enjoy reading. Sasha Kaye Riley is a new author to me; I can say without a doubt that I really enjoyed this book and am going to be keeping an eye out for Sasha’s work in the future.

By Blood is the second book in this series. Vincent, one of our M/Cs, is finally coming home after eight long months training race horses with his dad, and is looking forward to/nervously anticipating reconnecting with his boyfriend, Dustin, and the people he left behind. Unfortunately, due to a disgruntled employee, the quiet homecoming Vince is after doesn’t last long.

One of the things I liked about this book is that even though I haven’t read the first one yet, there was enough backstory peppered throughout this book so I didn’t feel lost, yet we don’t spend our time basically reliving the first.

Another was that Dustin and Vince seem very real, we see them trying to deal with issues from the past, and coming to terms with their sexuality and what it means for their relationship. I like that they aren’t perfect and don’t have everything figured out but are happy to have someone to love and hold at the end of the night.

So from one reader to another, if you get to read this book, I hope you enjoy as much as I do.

From a reader to the author, thank you for a truly enjoyable book, and I hope we get some more Vince and Dustin soon!
