Review: Ryan Straton comes off as a bit of a jerk when it comes to women, and I’m not sure I liked him. I didn’t really care he’d been hurt by a woman in the past. You just don’t treat women as throw-aways after you’ve had your fun. But that becomes an irony, then, when Ryan rescues Marilyn from a homophobic attack. Even after Ryan found out that Marilyn was a man named Morgan, he couldn’t stop obsessing over that blowjob! Oh, how the mighty do fall… Ryan’s love ‘em and leave ‘em strategy doesn’t quite work out when it comes to Morgan. In fact, it’s the one time that Ryan finds himself coming back for more, when he later seeks out Dr. Morgan Pruitt and proposes that he, Ryan, is bi-curious and would like to find out more about what it’s like to be with a man.

The romance part of Lifting Techniques is so sweet, and I loved how Ryan succumbed to Morgan’s charms as they got to know each other. I couldn’t help but fall a little in love with Morgan too. He was just so sweet! The only thing I would say against this book is the part with the serial killer was resolved too quickly and could have been better developed.

I would highly recommend Lifting Techniques to readers who love to watch two people dance to the tune of falling in love without a whole lot of angst to drive you nuts.
