Review: I’m a huge fan of Belinda McBride and will read anything she writes. Prince of Faith is the third book in the An Uncommon Whore series, and I have to say that it’s a satisfying addition, and I recommend the series be read in order just because you’ll get the whole, rich story and not just a piece of it.

In Prince of Faith, the action revolves around Prince Markus Dayspring, the cousin of Helios, the current king of New Demos. Last we left him he was thought to be a traitor to Helios, but was himself double-crossed and taken into slavery. In the second book it was discovered that Markus was set up and was really the most loyal to Helios. There is lots of intrigue and back and forth, and that’s why reading all the books in order will give you the whole picture. Now Markus is held captive as a sex slave ,and Helios and Hawk have sent Caius Trey, a prince from a former rival kingdom, to his rescue. Also it turns out that Caius is Markus’s former paramour. Their history is complicated, to say the least, but Caius’ treatment of Markus spoke volumes of his long standing love for Markus.

I’m not going to give away any spoilers, but there is an unexpected twist to the story and Markus and Caius’s relationship. I liked them together because both had similar experiences, but totally different reactions to them, and that made them complement each other. I just wanted their past history to have been more fleshed out. The story is very emotional, so have some tissues at the ready.

Characters from previous books make appearances and move the story along. I hope I see more of Helios and Hawke. Prince of Faith is a solid story that’s fast paced and entertaining. I enjoyed reading this book, and any fan of Belinda McBride’s will too.
