Tensions run high as Knight communicates very little and Day bristles at Knight’s heavy-handed need for control.

But after drinking too much, Day and Knight wake up in bed. Together. As they near their destination, they must learn to trust and rely on each other to infiltrate the terrorist camp and neutralize the plot aimed at the US’s technological infrastructure, if they hope to have a life after the mission. One that might include each other.

Review: Wow! I think I have found a new trope that I now have to have in my reading. Military types are a given, but super-confident, geek spy guys are a new one for me. I loved the idea of Scorpion and its purpose, almost like the CIA, Homeland Security, and NSA rolled into one. It even had the surly boss that no one liked. I don’t know how much research went into the actiony-spy things, but it was exciting and fun.

I love that the author doesn’t skimp on the details here. The setting, the description of the action, and the emotions are all there, not one word out of place, and I ran the gamut of the emotional spectrum reading this novel. The back-and-forth POV fills in a ton of things going on in the story, but it doesn’t take away from the enjoyment because even while facts of the MCs are being divulged, you aren’t being told a story. You are being entranced into the relationship that is forming between these two men.

Day is almost just too cute for words. I wanted to cuddle Knight, even though he would have most likely shot me. This couple works for me, and they both have just enough baggage to make them perfectly flawed characters, which makes me want to cheer all the more for their happily ever after.

It’s been revealed that Dirk Greyson is the pseudonym of Andrew Grey, and while I did notice differences in the writing style, somewhat, this author knows how to tell a story no matter what name he goes by. Thank you for another excellent tale, sir.
