Review: Tara Lain’s Driven Snow started off a bit slow for me, and I must admit that I had trouble getting interested in where this one was going. But then, OMG, it picked up and wouldn’t let me go until I finished it! Which was about the time the professor collapsed. Just as the blurb says, it becomes much worse for Snow as one thing after another starts to snowball downhill.

I seem to enjoy those geeky types who have a hidden depth to them, and even though things went so wrong with him and Riley, Snow didn’t cave and give in. He used his noggin and worked to solve the problem. Of course, it helped to have his very own Mr. Pennymaker standing in the wings with words of encouragement, along with seven very hunky frat brothers to save the day.

As for Riley, well, he had a little growing up to do, but when he wasn’t jumping to conclusions and allowed himself to really think about the situation he found himself in, he proved that he wasn’t just another dumb jock with a pretty face. Which turned out well, because I really wanted to drop-kick his butt when he first turned against Snow.

Driven Snow is cute, suspenseful (as in angsty), and it even had a moral to the story. I love how Tara Lain took this fairytale theme and turned the story into a wonderful M/M contemporary fantasy romance. And once again, if there were another Pennymaker tale made available, I would gladly read it.
