I love rainy days. They remind me that I need to slow down and enjoy my time indoors either watching movies on Netflix or cuddling up with a warm blanket and a good book. The housework can wait, and there’s no need to go out for groceries, but listening to the sounds of the rain hitting the roof is soothing, and it’s only a matter of time before those same sounds rock me to sleep.

When I lived in Thailand, it rained for several days straight and eventually, flooded the city so high that we needed to reach higher land by means of a canoe. Oceans and lakes are quite beautiful, but flood waters are dark and thick with sewage and leeches, and isn’t a pretty site for anyone. Don’t even ask me about bathroom situations in flood areas, either. You truly don’t want to know.

And yet, I still love the sound of the rain. The bad experience wasn’t one to tarnish how comforting it is for me to hear. Even the roll of thunder and crack of lightning are mesmerizing. Give me a storm any day.

Thanks so much for having me today. I’ve been in the M/M genre for a couple of years now, and started out with a paranormal novel called Athan’s Kiss, about a pansexual vampire with amnesia. I followed that with a series of wolf shifter short stories (The Shifting Paradigm Series), and now I’m following it up with my new contemporary novel, Life Worth Living. This story is about a sweet college crush that grows into a summer love, but there’s a lot of turmoil in Jake and Quentin’s lives. So many secrets surround them, both their own and those of others, that threaten to upend their love, and in the end, they must choose to let go and be honest with themselves before they can have that happy ever after.

Quentin is unable to ignore his desire for Jake and makes the life-altering leap that holds his future in the balance. Locked away from the public eye, the two men admit their love for one another. In three short months, they will be forced to part ways for graduate school but the challenges of potential scrutiny, family commitment and an un-promised future may prove to be more than they can overcome.
