Blurb: Loren Smith has been in love with Eliot Devlin almost his entire life. Review: I hadn’t heard of Unquiet until I saw an author I follow mention it on Twitter, nor had I read anything by Melanie Hansen before, so I went and checked it out and saw that there were a couple books before this one. I decided to give the first one, Everything Changes, a shot. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t even 50% through it before I ordered the next one, Signs of Life, and then requested this one for review.
Unquiet is amazing, though I’m really not sure that word even does it justice. Now, let me put out there that reading this book is brutal, it’s heartbreaking and emotional, and it’s basically going to tear you apart and wreck you for a while (at least it did for me). But, oh my, is it all worth going through to read this story. It literally hurt to read some parts of this book. Melanie Hansen doesn’t gloss over or try to sugarcoat the struggles that these people face; rather, she puts it right out there and lets you suffer right along with them. But how awesome to be able to look at Loren and Eliot and wish that someone would love you as unconditionally as they love each other, to know that this is something that isn’t going to go away, and to have that one person love and stand by you, knowing that you are both going to go through hell…but at least you will have each other. It really is a beautiful story.
I loved the first two books in this series, but Unquiet is so much more, and I look forward to reading more from Melanie Hansen in the future.
