Blurb: How does Dillon take care of Coke when Coke’s destroying himself?

Bullfighter Coke is having a rough time in the Roughstock universe. When his dear friend Sam Bell is injured at the finals of the bull riding season, he takes that and his injuries pretty hard. His very own clown, Dillon, is determined to take care of Coke, which is tough when Coke is usually the one to care for everyone. Coke has a huge secret from his past, though, and, when Dillon digs to discover what it is, the skeletons in Coke’s closet threaten to destroy both men.

Publisher’s Note: This book has been previously released elsewhere. It have been revised, re-edited ansd significantly expanded for re-release with Pride Publishing.

Review: Dillon Walsh and Coke Pharris are both stressed over Sammy Bell’s horrible accident. With that on his mind, Dillon needs to get Coke home to his Idaho ranch so Coke can heal, rest, and just have alone time with him and those two lovable pups, Pansy and Jerome. Dillon has made up his mind—no more Gramps or Fearless Pharris for Coke. He’s going to take control and get his man well. Dillon’s plans are going fairly well until AJ makes that last frantic call about Missy. Coke, Dillon, and the pups are on their way to Texas.

Being at AJ’s ranch has Dillon connecting with so many of Coke’s friends, and he becomes curious about Coke’s family. He’s asked Coke before about family, but Coke avoids answering. When Dillon asks the other bullfighters about Coke’s family situation, everyone tells him to leave it alone. But Coke is Dillon’s love, and he feels hurt that Coke doesn’t share his life story with him. With the bits and pieces Dillon has gathered, he sets out to do his own investigating. When Coke picks up on Dillon knowing about his past, he panics and goes on the run. Dillon’s not going for his man running from him because of his past, though. He’s in this relationship, good or bad, and nothing will change the love he has for Coke. Dillon packs up the pups and sets out to bring his love home.

BA Tortuga really brings out all the emotions, drama, fun and lots of love with this huge extended family. Coke’s Clown reflects on how much love Dillon and Coke have for each other, and why Coke feels the need to be perfect. Dillon is determined to be Coke’s strength when he’s down, and he’s wants to be of help to others too. It’s also a story about the camaraderie that bullfighters, friends, and family have with each other.

Coke’s Clown also gives Coke another chance to bring all the bullfighters and riders in together on the big plan to get Jason back into the rodeo. For me, Coke’s Clown was an enjoyable and great read, mainly because Dillon is my favorite character in the Roughstock series.
