The Loch Lomond National Park

I just read that this area was once roamed by the legendary outlaw Rob Roy MacGregor and I am so excited to go and visit what is apparently a wild and stunningly beautiful place. (I have to admit when I was younger, like ten or so, I thought The Trossachs was in Russia – face palm, but let’s ignore that!).

Loch Lomond is the biggest of the Scottish Lochs (bigger than Loch Ness, which I talk about on another blog post!). Over 100 years ago the area was visited by Queen Victoria and Sir Walter Scott (where he was inspired to write the poem ‘The Lady Of The Lake’). The area is also the backdrop as a wild and stormy location for lots of Hollywood films!

My newest release, Kissing Alex, is the sixth book in my Bodyguards series. The setting for this book is the fictional island of Stoirmeil (The stormy isle) just off the west coast of Scotland.

Next year I am *insert big birthday number here* and I have been researching the family’s Scottish Grand Tour (!) for next Summer. I had to put the romantic Loch Lomond National Park on the list of places to visit. On the various blogs I have visited I have talked about the places I want to see, visit them all to read all about wild and stunning Scotland.
