Blurb: Having welcomed an alien into his crew and his bed, the captain has more than enough to worry about without the looming threat of a birthday he’d rather forget. It’s just as well that his ship develops a catastrophic malfunction and crash lands before anyone can ask him how old he’s turning. But his good luck only lasts so long; when he and his men follow Rux to an abandoned city in search of replacement parts so they can effect repairs, one disaster follows another. Worse yet, Zachery, the captain’s most headstrong lover, is developing a crush on the one member of the crew he really shouldn’t…

Review: I cannot begin to tell you how much I love this series and the characters. Each book T.J. Land writes just increases my fascination with the Captain and his men.
After an accident on the ship causes them to crash land, the Captain and crew follow Rux to an abandoned city to find the parts that will repair the ship and get them back in the sky. However, as they explore the abandoned buildings, they discover Rux is not everything he’s made himself to be. Meanwhile, Zachery starts to have a crush on Antoine which is completely forbidden, and Thomas starts to take more notice of Echo, who seems to be okay with the attention. Rick, sadly, is down for the count in this book.
I need the next book right now. Also, I never want this series to end.
There is more revealed about Antoine than in the last book, and some of the men get to know him better. Also, Thomas gets to know Echo more and discovers a fascinating secret about him. I did not see it coming, and it made me absolutely squeal with joy. JOY, I tell you! My favorite silent character has become even more complex, and I love him and the author for the way he is written!
In order to fully enjoy this book, you must read the series in order. Yes, it has a polyamorous relationship between consenting adults. Yes, there is an alien involved. But holy cow, this is a series not to miss, and I very impatiently wait for the next in the series!
Maybe I’ll go reread this book to help pass the time.
