Blurb: Reno Detective Cristian Flesh is an out and unashamed cop, but his slutty ways might be his downfall. Cristian lives by a strict set of personal rules, preferring hook-ups and anonymous encounters to committed relationships. His guidelines work for him… until one of his tricks is murdered and he becomes the prime suspect.

Leave it to handsome lawyer Colby Maddox to save Cristian’s life. He takes the case and the attraction between them is quick and undeniable. After several passion-filled encounters with Colby, Cristian unexpectedly wants to break all his rules. However, before they can contemplate a future together, they’ll have to clear Cristian’s name and find the real murderer.

Review: When I saw that this book was being rereleased, I jumped on it. I love me a good mystery, and this story satisfied that itch on so many levels. Ethan Stone does an amazing job of world and plot building. I didn’t figure out who the big bad guy was until about halfway through the book, and Ethan made me work for it.

Cristian Flesh (great name) is such a wonderful character. Flawed, loveable, clever and damaged, Cristian is a detective with a big sex drive who lives life unapologetically. This mystery threatens Cristian in more ways than one as people around him start to die. It was fun to walk through his world as it falls apart and he rebounds.

His love interest, Colby, is a lawyer and becomes a driving force in Cristian’s life. Colby is a complex character that took me a bit to figure out. I think what I love most about the relationship that the author builds between Cristian and Colby is the push/pull and ultimate statement that love isn’t enough. This is a MUST read.

Narration: Tristan James is an audio GOD. His smoky voice and ability to define characters, combined with Ethan’s wonderful storytelling, was a WIN/WIN. I am always left wanting more when it comes to James’ narration.
