Blurb: Ezra Kellerman flew across country to see if he had another chance with the man he let slip through his fingers. He didn’t. Rico has moved on, but he doesn’t just leave his ex high and dry. Instead, Rico entrusts his family and friends with Ezra’s care. Ezra, confused, hurt, and lost, clings to Rico’s cousin and his boyfriend as the lifelines they are—but their friend Miguel is another story.

Miguel Rodriguez had great plans and ambition—but a hearty dose of real life crushed those flat. When Miguel finds himself partially in charge of the befuddled, dreamy, healing Ezra, he’s pretty resentful at first. But Ezra’s placid nature and sincere wonder at the simple life Miguel has taken for granted begin to soften Miguel’s hardened shell. Miguel starts to notice that Ezra isn’t just amazingly sweet—he’s achingly beautiful as well. Suddenly Miguel is fending off every currently single man on the planet to give Ezra room to get over Rico—while fighting a burning suspicion that the best thing to help Ezra get over his broken heart is Miguel.

Review: I went into this book fully knowing what to expect. I reviewed the previous installment of this series. I simply couldn’t help myself and reviewed this one too, as the stories are so enjoyable.

Everyone needs a little sweet in their lives, and Ezra is no exception. He was raised by a bossy tyrant of a man who mapped out every move of his childhood and on to his adulthood. After falling in love with Rico and then hurting him, Ezra finally breaks free of his father and follows Rico, hoping for a second chance. But Rico has moved on and is in love, though he still cares for Ezra so helps by taking him in and getting him a job. Ezra’s simple and calm nature really appealed to me. He is extremely smart but has never lead his own life.

Miguel was due his man. We met him in all of the previous stories, briefly, but really get to know about him and his family in this story. He was due a happy ending and true love after many disappointments, professional and personal.

I loved the new supporting cast in Lollipop. Miguel’s family is exactly what the doctor ordered for Ezra. To see a family unit that loves each other helps Ezra understand that what he was raised in wasn’t a family.

Narration: Phillip Alces isn’t one of my favorite narrators due to his overly dramatic voicing; however, he is perfect for this sweet story. He has a light and airy tone to his voice that complements it perfectly.
