Review: I’ve enjoyed the previous books in the Love in Luguna series, so I didn’t hesitate to give Prince of the Playhouse a listen when it came out in audio. I must say, after listening to the narration, I totally agree with Jules’ earlier review of the ebook. I was very disappointed that it took a couple of chapters for Ru and Gray to even meet. Not to mention, I couldn’t really connect to their chemistry with each other. This was a long read with very little to hold my attention.
Now, the pictures of Gray that Mrs. O, Ru’s neighbor, supplied to Ru, and the revealing of Ru’s gang history, were a perk in the story. But, for me, it was missing that romantic dance between two people getting to know each other, and the magic of their falling in love—which the two previous stories did so well.
As for K.C. Kelly’s narration of Prince of the Playhouse, as expected it was very well done. His voice characterizations and his pacing were top notch. His performance made the story itself better.
