Our Best of the Best picks and giveaways continue on today with the newest member of the TNA review team, Cassie. Her list is a little shorter since she only had half the year to compile from, but it’s no less outstanding, and there’s also the chance to win two e-book from her list.

Your mention of Mad Lizard Mambo reminded me that I’ve been talking in other Simply the Best posts about favorite books in text and forgot to mention favorite books in audio. The first Kai Gracen book, Black Dog Blues, was a favorite read/listen at the beginning of the year. I have to get to MLM soon! Avon Gale’s Scoring Chances series is as wonderful in audio as it is in print, and the same can be said for Santino Hassell’s Sunset Park. Narrators brought stories I already loved to another level of devotion. Way back in January I thought Alexis Hall’s Glitterland would be my favorite audiobook of the year because AH’s words and Nicholas Boulton’s narration are both STUNNING. But it turned out Frazer Douglas’ narration of The Song of Achilles (thank you again, Lisa, for the rec!) by Madeline Miller just barely surpassed it in my heart. Anyway, some truly wonderful audiobook experiences this year.
