Blurb: Of all the bars in all the towns in all the world, the stranger walks into Brody Tyler’s. With no memory and a name he chose from a newspaper, Nash is a gamble – one Brody is willing to take. It isn’t long before Brody and Nash fall in love, but then a tragic accident shatters their cozy world, resetting Nash’s memory once again.

The new Nash Walker is a businessman with a bottom line, and he doesn’t care what or who gets stomped on. Waking up in a hospital bed after a hit-and-run with no idea where he’s been for the past six months is bad enough, but someone trying to kill him is even worse. Enter Brody Tyler, accidental bodyguard.

Brody’s determined to help Nash remember and bring back the man he loves. Nash thinks Brody’s a drop-dead gorgeous pain in the ass. If only he could remember….

Dividers

Review: I liked how Unshakeable Faith starts with Brody reminiscing about his bar when a customer walks in and immediately catches his attention. It doesn’t take long for Brody to strike up a conversation with this attractive stranger, a conversation which becomes almost unbelievable as “green eyes” begins to relate his current predicament. “Green eyes” left a hospital where he’d been recovering after being viciously attacked and left for dead, and has no memory of who he is. He left the hospital after stealing another patient’s clothes because he learned that they were considering transferring him to a mental hospital, and had just spent the night in an alley before coming into the bar.

Now, this is where Brody himself may be considered either crazy or a very kindhearted person, but he does offer “green eyes” a place to stay as well as a job until he can figure out what to do. But, in the meantime, Brody suggests giving him a name; after looking through a newspaper, Nash is now that name. Basically, as you can guess from the blurb, they both fall in love with each other. Buuut, this is where it becomes even more interesting. After Nash is struck down by a car while out making deliveries for the bar, he wakes up in the hospital and remembers everything—except for the last six months. And, needless to say, Brody is beside himself when his lover disappears without a trace.

Brody later sees Nash on TV, leaving the hospital, and calls the number that the authorities have provided in the newscast to find out more about what happened to Nash. When Brody learns that Nash has lost his memory again, he’s sure that once Nash sees him, it will all come back, everything about their relationship, and they can continue their life together. What happens next, though, is that Brody is mistaken for a potential bodyguard hired by Nash’s mother, and once the two meet… Nothing. Nash has absolutely no memory of Brody, so Brody gets it into his head, since Nash is in danger, to pose as the bodyguard with the hope that Nash will eventually remember him. What Brody doesn’t count on is that Nash is now a rich and powerful douche bag, and that Brody is going to find out just how hard it is to love someone who considers him nothing more than the hired help.

I read Unshakeable Faith when it first came out a few years back, and I enjoyed it. Lisa Worrall is a favorite author of mine, and when I saw that the book was out in audio, well, I just couldn’t miss out on the listening experience.

Sean Lenhart is a new to me narrator, and I felt he did an excellent job with his narration. He did well with giving each character their own voice, and his performance was captivating. I felt emotion, which is important to me while I listen to audiobooks, especially during some heart wrenching moments such as a scene at the bar between Brody and Nash.

I consider Unshakeable Faith to be a 5 star listen.
