Opposites Attract
Momo’s main characters are Nate and William. Nate’s an actor, who’s comfortable in the limelight. William is a reserved, no-nonsense businessman. Nate’s also an only child and William is a twin.
From a very early age, William knew he and his brother, Marcus, were very different creatures. On top of stark personality differences, William is gay and Marcus is straight. Growing up, everyone seemed to notice how different the brothers were.
For William, he never feels as if he measures up to his brother, and he was often ridiculed and bullied for it. William learned to hide in daylight, to become so unobtrusive that people would focus all their attention on Marcus rather than him.
He moved away from home to create some distance, to grow and discover who he was without Marcus by his side. Yet even at age thirty-three, he’s still fighting against some of those comparisons. That same reserve he perfected as a kid helps him lay low on the job, where he’s not yet out.
But then William meets Nate, a man whose sexuality is practically painted on his skin. Nate has a flair for the dramatic. He’s boisterous, fun loving, and free, easily grabbing attention everywhere he goes, the exact opposite of the life William has set up for himself.
Despite that sort of attention scaring the daylights out of William, he’s drawn to Nate. Thankfully he has his brother to talk to as he works through his feelings, which are complex. Nate brings up a whole slew of worries William had thought he’d worked through. Thankfully Marcus is there to challenge William so he will give Nate a chance.
Opposites attract, after all.

William Harris is a reserved man, private and guarded. He has no one to go home to. He’s never found a man worth sticking around for. He’s never been in love. And he’s convinced he’s happy with his lone-wolf life.
Nate Kelly is William’s opposite, social and easy going. He comes into William’s life as the elegant geisha Momo. When William realizes Momo is a man in drag, he’s captivated.
From their first date, William’s world changes. Nate is nothing like his usual type. And William soon finds out being with this carefree man means always being on display and attracting attention, which makes him want to retreat. He tries to keep Nate at arm’s length, but it’s no use. Nate’s transformed his life in a matter of months and keeps drawing him back in.
If they stand a chance, William has to be comfortable standing next to someone so at home in the limelight. Their future together and William’s happiness depend on it. Is Nate the man finally worth giving up William’s solitary existence? Is he worth sticking around for?
