At a Glance: I have to say I liked the idea and plot of this story, and while the writing is somewhat simplistic, it makes for a fast read.

Review: Matt Glenn is a professional thief—in a good way. He’s smart about his security business and knows how to get in and out of places without being detected—if they need the best security system around, he can provide it. Matt is hired by Benjamin Perdenwight; Benjamin wants to prove to his mother that her security needs upgrading. Matt acquires a tiara from the Perdenwight safe, and goes through all the technicalities to prove ownership. Of course, the theft gets the police involved, but Matt gets in touch with Lt. Jordan Cobbers to get it all taken care of. Not all the police like what Matt does, and it causes friction.

Matt has one big flaw: he doesn’t have a clue when someone is really interested in him. Jordan and Matt have been in an on/off relationship. Jordan has always had feelings for Matt, but Matt just doesn’t get it. Since their relationship—if that’s what it really is—is currently in off mode, Matt starts seeing Benjamin.

When Aaron Blent contacts Matt about his daughter’s kidnapping, Matt explains that he only works in thefts—as long as it benefits his security business. But whoever has Aaron’s daughter is dangerous, obviously, and by no means can the police be contacted, so Matt takes the job.

I have to say I liked the idea and plot of this story, and while the writing is somewhat simplistic, it makes for a fast read. To Steal His Heart does have action, suspense and a few suspicious characters. It’s also told from Matt’s POV, so you don’t really know what other characters think at times. That brings me to Jordan Cobbers; he really intrigued with the little bits that are shared about him, but he seems devoted to Matt. No matter how things end for him and Matt, Jordan always vows to wait for him. I would have really liked for Alec Nortan to give us more of Jordan’s POV.
