Blurb: Randall Young has one duty as his sister’s “man of honor”: to ensure she has the best wedding ever. That includes an epic bachelorette pub crawl, leading him to Portland’s most popular gay bar… and into Hunter Mitchell’s well-muscled arms. A one-night stand with a sexy soldier is the perfect way to ditch that pesky V-card and get himself in the mood for a weekend of flowers, cake, and nuptials.

Hunter wants to blow off some steam before he stands up as his best friend’s best man. He’s already married to his military career, not looking to settle down. He certainly doesn’t intend for the one guy he met (and, okay, got off with) in Oregon to be his counterpart in the wedding party. Or a virgin. Definitely wasn’t intending that. Luckily, they have the rest of the weekend for Hunter to show Randall what he’s been missing.

The more they’re thrown together by the wedding, the more Randall and Hunter grow together outside the bedroom… which is dangerous because there’s a lot more than 2500 miles standing between them and a happily-ever-after. If they want a future beyond their wedding weekend hookup, both must find the courage to take a chance on love.

Dividers

Review: Randall is out for the evening with his sister and her gal pals—kind of a bachelorette/hen-do before her big wedding weekend. They go to a gay bar and there, Randall sees Hunter. And he checks off all of Randall’s boxes. Little does Randall know that he also checks off Hunter’s boxes. When the girls want to move on and Hunter and Randall hit it off, everyone’s night seems to be looking up. Randall accompanies Hunter back to his hotel room and finally, finally gets what he’s always wants—time with another man.

But Randall has wedding duties, and he needs to get out to the venue and help his sister get ready. Imagine his surprise when he discovers that his future brother-in-law’s best man is, in fact, his previous night’s hook-up! Both are shocked to see the other, and they decide to keep their previous meeting just between them—for numerous reasons.

As the wedding weekend heats up and there are lots of activities planned, the guys are thrown together in a lot of different situations. There is the “team building” exercise that rocket scientist (for real) Randall wants no part of, but Hunter turns out to be a good guy helping everybody. Then, there are some wedding prep snafus, and Hunter and Randall save the day. As they spend more time together, it turns out they are each more impressed with the other. But Randall suffers from a lot of self-doubt due to his inexperience. And every time they seem to be getting closer, something seems to happen to push them apart.

As the wedding weekend is ramping up and then winding down, Randall and Hunter have to figure out if there is really something there. Hunter has his military career, and Randall has a job decision to make, and neither of them knows what the future holds. Each guy has to figure out what it is he really wants. and what he’s willing to do to get it.

I really enjoyed this story. I’m a big fan of Annabeth Albert’s, having read several of her series, including Portland Heat and the Gaymers series. Rebecca Qualls is a new to me author. This story has a lot of sweetness and heat! In this case of opposites attract, it’s fun to watch Hunter and Randall realize that there may be more than a wedding weekend fling between them—but they have to get out of their own way to close to deal.
