Blurb: For Sean Wright, driving a cab in the tiny Navy town of Anchor Point isn’t an exciting job…until he picks up just-dumped Paul Richards. A drive turns into a walk on the pier, which turns into the hottest hookup Sean’s had in ages.

After a long overdue breakup, Paul can’t believe his luck. Of all the drivers, he’s picked up by the gorgeous, gay, and very willing Sean. Younger guys aren’t usually his thing, but Paul can’t resist.

One taste and neither man can get enough…right up until they realize that Paul is Sean’s father’s commanding officer and the last man Sean should be involved with.

With two careers on the line, their only option is to back off. It’s not easy, though; the sex and the emotional connection are exactly what both men have been craving for a long time. But Paul has devoted 24 years to his career and his dream of making admiral. If he’s caught with Sean, that’s all over. He has to choose – stay the course, or trade it all for the man who drove off with his heart.

Review: Sean Wright is driving a cab in a small town attached to a military base. One evening when sexy Paul Richards get into his cab, immediately after a breakup with yet another lover who can’t compete with his career, he tells Sean to just drive, promising him a handsome fee for his trouble.

Sean is not Paul’s usual type, or even in his age range, but something clicks between them and they wind up making love. Once they start they just can’t stop. No matter what stands in their way, they want and need to be together—but the truth about who they really are stands right in the way of them being the partners they have always wanted in their lives.

Nick J. Russo delivers still another stellar narration. He portrays the characters here with his usual depth and talent. As this well-written story by L. A. Witt evolves, Russo captures every nuance of the characters and gives the listener an audio treat. Sean’s youth is given a full exploration. What seems obvious to the reader escapes Sean due to his age and inexperience. Russo’s talent for helping us understand his deep emotion, but also his inability to process how to resolve them, is spot on. Alternately, he uses his voice to show us Paul’s feeling of being in real love for the first time but also how he feels trapped by the career he chose and the rules that career imposed on him for so long.

As the two men fight their circumstances, Russo shows us their passion, their anger, and the joy of making love with someone they have real emotion for. When the men make their final choices as the story concludes, we are left feeling like the journey was worth it because of the story Witt gave us, and the talented voice acting of Russo. There isn’t one moment in this narration that feel rushed or faked. Every bit of it is a class act that deepens the listener’s immersion into this new world. This is the first book in a series, and I for one hope Russo continues with it.

I highly recommend Just Drive. Those buying the audio will not be disappointed. Do yourself a favor, pick it up as soon and you can, and be prepared to enjoy every moment of it.
