Review: The narrative of Dear Mona Lisa… was peculiar and unique. The authors sure have their own distinct way of telling a story. At first I felt as if I was reading the script for a play, and later I felt as if I was in the middle of a beautiful poem. This story is going to stay with me for a while, mainly because of the way it was told. It’s been a while since I’ve read such a lyrical book. If it was longer I don’t think I would have been able to enjoy it this much, but because it was fairly short it worked, and I liked it a lot. I’m not much for poems and trying to guess what the poet wanted me to understand by saying that weird thing over there. I would have struggled with this if it was longer, because a lot of times there were things that didn’t make any sense if you thought of them realistically. You had to understand what they represented and what the authors meant there.
It was a nice experience and the story was sweet and had a depth that I didn’t expect to find in such a short read. The characters were complete, they had history, they had friends, they had unique personalities and problems. They where whole, and I didn’t feel as if something was missing or as if the story was rushed or incomplete. It was short, but in those pages we got a full story and experienced so many emotions.
I’ll keep this short and just say that Dear Mona Lisa… is worth reading. It’s something different from the mass. This book has its own character; it’s short, sweet, poetic, strong. It has foxes in slippers and taking baths and having weddings. It has a family that has some issues, and it has new beginnings and brave moments.
Dear Mona Lisa… is a story about taking the next step in your life and being honest with those you love.
