Length: 22,000 words approx
Blurb: A robot fanboy. An erotic voice actor. Will their secrets overwhelm their love?
Sato doesn’t get out much. The anime company accountant spends his days at a desk and his nights working on his own small-scale robots. His geeky life is like a dream, but it has just one piece missing…
The world only knows Aoi for his moans. The erotic voice actor has legions of fangirls obsessed with his gasps of simulated ecstasy. And his new boyfriend Sato can barely handle the attention.
As Aoi’s popularity rises and secrets about his past begin to reveal themselves, can the accountant and the voice actor rise above their problems to create something real?
Year One is a short story anthology collection unlike anything you’ve ever read. If you like geeky settings, and sweet romance, then you’ll love Amy Tasukada’s slice-of-life story.

The Excerpt
“You keep sighing,” Sato said.
“I didn’t think you could hear me. I hope it didn’t distract you.”
“Is everything okay?”
“Just going over my lines.”
“Is there a sigh you’re trying to perfect?”
Sato’s fingers tickled Aoi’s spine, making him wiggle in a failed attempt to escape. It only encouraged Sato to continue his caresses. Aoi laughed, and his frustration fluttered away like flipping pages in a book.
Aoi turned, grabbing Sato’s wrist to stop the assault. He left his palms resting flat against Aoi’s chest, sending a wave of heat and desire through him. How was it Sato knew exactly what to do? Aoi didn’t want to imagine his life without him.
Sato smiled. “I know it’s a script you don’t like.”
“I think I might go for a run later.”
“Now you’re avoiding it.”
“Running is good for you. You should come.”
Sato leaned over and grabbed the script. “You’ve been staring at the same page for ten minutes.”
“You noticed?”
“How could I not notice? You weren’t moaning.”
“It’s worse than anything else I’ve read.” Aoi looked away, not even wanting to get a glimpse of the paper.
“It can’t be too bad. Isn’t it mostly the drama CD stuff again?”
If only Aoi was saying the drama CDs lines. They were tame in comparison. The animators had to pack in more lines to fill up the ninety minutes of smut.
“It’s like they made a contest for fans to send in what they want me to say, and they threw in all the suggestions.” Aoi cleared his throat. “’Please, please, all I want is your big, fat cock, Master.’”
“Okay, that is bad.”
“That’s not the worst of it!”
Sato laughed, and Aoi glared at him. He had no idea the obscene lines Aoi had to say, and there he was, giggling at his discomfort.
“You’re laughing now, but wait until I start practicing.”
Sato paged through the script, nodding his head and rubbing his chin with his free hand. “Let me help.”
Aoi raised a brow. “You’re going to play my master?”
Sato’s cheeks turned a light shade of pink, and Aoi grinned, imagining Sato in a black vinyl BDSM outfit. Yeah… that was as likely as Aoi growing taller.
“Ye-yes.” Sato cleared his throat. “What kind of a boyfriend would I be if I didn’t help you with your lines?”
“You barely top as it is and you think you can play him?”
“Hey!” Sato rolled up the script and tapped Aoi on the head. “I can be dominating when I want to be.”
It was cute the way Sato wanted to help, but he was a salaryman, not a slave master.
