At a Glance: Psycho Romeo is a great debut in the Ward Security series. This is an in-depth look into both of these men’s lives, and the plot was suspenseful and has a lot to do with social media.

Blurb: Geoffrey Ralse is known for being the life of the party. He loves the club scene, hanging with his friends, and flirting with whomever catches his eye. He certainly isn’t going to stop living his life just because some would-be stalker starts sending him threats.

But it all changes when Geoffrey is drugged and wakes up half naked in his own home with a new message from his stalker.

He needs help and there’s only one person he trusts…

Protective Agent Sven Larsen has been fighting Geoffrey’s flirtatious advances for months, even though he’s impossibly drawn to the man. There’s no way he can be around him twenty-four/seven and not finally crack. But one look at Geoffrey’s haunted eyes, and he knows there’s no way he’s letting Geoffrey walk out of Ward Security without him.

Even if it means breaking his own rules, he will keep Geoffrey safe.

Trigger warning: There is a very short section with sexual assault that some could find upsetting.

Review: For a young man, Geoffrey Ralse has it all. He’s into social media, and whenever he makes a move, he lets all his friends know. But Geoffrey learns a hard lesson when he starts to realize what “friend” really means. The only person Geoffrey is close to is his brother, Finn, whom he raised from a young age. Although Geoffrey seems to live the high life, he’s really is lonely.

Sven Larsen is a big man, somewhat shy and reserved. He’s also to the point; there’s no gray areas with Sven. His large frame seems to bother him, and he knows he could hurt someone slighter than him. He has a great family, and has found Ward Security to be a place of comfort for himself.

Sven and Geoffrey know of each other; they’ve sparred a few times in self-defense training. Geoffrey’s always flirty, but Sven just tries to keep his composure. When Sven sees that something is up with Geoffrey, he becomes his bodyguard—Geoffrey has a stalker. As the stalker becomes more dangerous to Geoffrey, Sven has to be careful not to let his feelings get in the way. He has to make a difficult decision in order to protect Geoffrey to the fullest extent.

Psycho Romeo is a great debut in the Ward Security series by Jocelynn Drake and Rinda Elliott, and the cover by Stephen Drake fits the storyline. I have to confess I stayed away from the little excerpts/peeks the authors gave to their group, so I was really surprised. I had a totally different impression of Sven and Geoffrey, and I’m seeing them in a different light now. This is an in-depth look into both of these men’s lives; they had been a big part of the Unbreakable Bonds series. The plot was suspenseful and has a lot to do with social media. Quinn is in the spotlight with his expertise in IT, and I thought the concept of the new app Geoffrey was creating was unique (I don’t know if there is such a thing, but it would be nice to have a site where you can connect with just authors or music artists without all the ads, politics, and miscellaneous noise). When Geoffrey’s stalker becomes a more serious issue, we get a deeper look at some of the other Ward Security team—Royce, Dominic, and Quinn, just to name a few.

The Unbreakable Bonds guys all get a mention, and some make appearances, so there are subtle updates on each couple. Rowe, Noah and Andrei are the hub of Ward Security, so it wouldn’t surprise me if we see them with important roles throughout this new series. I don’t know the title, or when the next installment in this series is coming out, but I do know who will star in it, and I have a feeling that it will be very interesting.
