Review: Testing the Limits by Tamryn Eradani

Title: Testing the Limits (Daniel and Ryan: Book Nine)

Author: Tamryn Eradani

Publisher: NineStar Press

Length: 36 Pages

Category: Contemporary, BDSM

At a Glance: As a whole, I hate serials, but this one grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. Mainly, Daniel and Ryan grabbed me and I am so glad they did. The writing is excellent in these shorts, and the pacing on the money.

Blurb: Daniel and Ryan take their relationship to the next level, trying new things in scene and clarifying what they mean to each other.

Review: There is a part of Daniel, albeit a small one, that still doesn’t know how Ryan feels about him. He knows how Ryan feels about the scenes they do, and how he feels about Daniel as a person, but how does Ryan feel about them as a couple? A committed pair? Boyfriends? Daniel is all caught up on the monogamy issue, and just what it means to him and Ryan. Are they exclusive because their schedules and their kinks sync, or does it go deeper than that? Oddly enough, it’s Daniel’s own wish to bring in a third with their last scene that has him questioning just where he and Ryan stand. And Ryan has plans for that. Of course, he does.

“I know you had fun with Brett,” Ryan says. “I know he definitely had fun with you, but now it’s the two of us again. I’m going to show you we’re enough. Maybe even too much.”

And boy does he ever. Ryan is never big on words, but he is a man of action and he spends this whole book proving to Daniel that what is between them is real, it’s hella-hot, and it’s forever. We still don’t have the “L” word, but we are getting there, as I am already a believer in this relationship and its ability to last the test of time. Once again Ryan wraps Daniel up and takes him to a place of complete adoration outside himself. There are ten books in this serial, and that means we only have one left. The blurb intimates that it is about them announcing their relationship to the outside world; I am assuming Daniel’s sister and family is a big part of that. The ending for this one will be bittersweet. As a whole, I hate serials, but this one grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. Mainly, Daniel and Ryan grabbed me and I am so glad they did. The writing is excellent in these shorts, and the pacing on the money. Little by little these two men have grown closer together, and all Daniel’s boundaries are coming down just for Ryan. Looking at the Daniel in this episode nine, and comparing him to the Daniel from book one, is an eye opener in just how far he has come. I mean, Daniel was a mess in this book, and it wasn’t him who insisted on the shower afterward, it was Ryan. That’s like…amazing!

Ryan presses a kiss to Daniel’s forehead, tender, barely a touch but one Daniel feels all the way down to his toes.

Daniel’s a goner and so is Ryan. It’s taken nine books for Ryan to prove it to Daniel. I can’t wait to see how the story ends.
