Lisa: We’re so pleased to have first time visitor Annabella Michaels joining us today on the tour for her new book, Found, Book One in the Hamilton’s Heroes series.
Welcome, Annabella! Let’s start right off with a question about your characters: if you could spend some real-life time with one of them, who would you choose and why?
Annabella: Hmmm. This is a tough one because I adore so many of the new characters as well as the older ones. I think I’d have to pick Jeremy though. He’s a really amazing guy. Very intelligent, funny, and protective with an amazing capacity to love. I think he and I would be great friends.
Lisa: On the flipside, then, which character would you probably least get along with? Why?
Annabella: This would definitely have to be Zane’s father. He’s a piece of garbage. Truly, a pitiful excuse for a human being.
Lisa: Let’s take off your author cap and put on your reader cap for a moment: what do you look for in a book, what sort of protagonists do you love, and do you have a favorite genre/sub-genre?
Annabella: I like to read books that make me FEEL. I want to laugh, cry and even shout at the characters. Books that can make me feel are the ones that stick with me long after I turn the last page. I particularly love YA and NA books because there’s so much angst as the characters find out who they are and discover love for the first time.
Lisa: What are your least and most favorite things about being an author?
Annabella: My favorite thing(s) about being an author are meeting so many incredible people along the way and having a creative outlet that I enjoy so much. My least favorite thing would be when the characters stop talking to me. There’s nothing more frustrating than waiting to hear from them again.
Lisa: What’s the one genre/sub-genre you haven’t written yet, but would love to? What’s kept you from it so far?
Annabella: I would love to write a YA (Young Adult) or NA (New Age) book someday. I love to read them, and I think we need more of them in the MM genre. The only thing stopping me is the characters themselves. I am completely character driven, so as soon as the right characters start telling me their story, I’ll write it.
Lisa: If you could choose one of your books to be adapted for the silver screen, which would you choose? Why do you think it would translate well to film?
Annabella: If I had to choose, I would probably say Protecting the Soul. There’s a great mix of romance, heat, mystery and action in it that I think it would translate well to film. Plus, Micah being a sexy ex-Navy SEAL wouldn’t hurt. LOL
Lisa: Let’s pretend you’re taking a road trip, and you can choose any three of your characters to go with you. First, who would you want on the ride-along, and why them? Second, who would be most likely to:
*Have to hit every rest stop bathroom
*Whine about how long it’s taking to get where you’re going
*Break wind with the windows rolled up
*Flip incessantly through songs on their music app
Annabella: Haha! I love this question. I would choose the three Greene brothers, Caleb, Carter and Landon. They are so kind and genuine and HILARIOUS when they get together.
*Landon would have to make a lot of pit stops. Mostly just so he could sneak away and call Micah without his brothers listening in. LOL
*Caleb would probably whine about how long it takes to get there just because he’s the only one who isn’t as used to being on the road. (Carter is a musician and Landon is his manager, so they travel often.)
*Haha! Carter would totally break wind just to annoy his brothers. He likes to stir up trouble.
*Carter is the musician, so he would definitely be listening to songs the entire trip.
Lisa: What book that you’ve read and loved would you most like to be a character in? Who would you be, and why?
Annabella: I’d want to be Tate Mitchell from Ella Frank’s Temptation series because who wouldn’t want to be in an all-consuming love affair with Logan? *sigh*
Lisa: If you were stranded on a desert island, what are three things you’d absolutely have to have?
Annabella: My family, my iPad (With an endless supply of book and battery charge LOL), and chocolate.
Lisa: Thank you so much for dropping in to chat with us today. It’s been a pleasure!

Blurb: As a former U.S.A.F. Pararescueman, Jeremy O’Brien is used to following orders, no questions asked. So, when Micah, his boss at Hamilton Security, asks him to take on a special case, he readily accepts. Micah’s instructions are simple, find the man in the picture and bring him back to Chicago.
Seven years ago, Zane Wilkinson left the hospital against doctor’s orders, only to suffer a final, devastating blow that left him with no choice but to leave the only place he’d called home. Feeling heartbroken and empty, Zane moved from town to town just trying to survive, while never letting anyone get too close.
In a chance encounter, Jeremy finds himself crossing paths with a man who fits Zane’s description. His instincts tell him that he’s on to something, but Micah warns him that he needs to be absolutely sure. Jeremy sets a plan in motion that will allow him to get closer to the man he believes to be Zane. However, the closer he gets, the more he likes the man and begins to question why he was sent to find him.
Will Jeremy be able to follow through with his orders without becoming too attached? Or will he realize that in his search for Zane, he’s found so much more than he bargained for?

About the Author
I am married to my high school sweetheart who let’s face it, is a saint for putting up with me all of these years. Together we have been blessed with the chance to raise two amazing human beings and so far, we haven’t screwed it up; I’ll let you know for sure later. I love watching movies, cooking, going to the beach and spending time with my family and best friends. I am an obsessive reader who is a complete sucker for a good love story but loves to feel a broad range of emotions throughout a book. I think real life is hard enough and so my books offer twists and turns, but always with a happy ending.
