Blurb: My big secret is out. Adam Vex may be a tiny bit not human. But it’s not so bad. Just so long as Gideon Cain doesn’t find out.
It’s probably best if I keep my head down and stay out of trouble, especially after our ‘accident’ at the vampire chapel.
But one little date won’t hurt. We deserve some time off. And what can go wrong at a fancy dinner? It’s not as though we’ll become tangled in a corporate plot to exploit Lost Ones in brutal fights to the death for entertainment, during which we attempt to free the fighters, only for the evening to end with me riding an enraged werewolf through the restaurant, and have the entire escapade viewed millions of times online resulting in all of San Francisco asking:
What is Adam Vex?
Why would any of that happen?!
My name is Adam Vex and I’m your host at the SOS HOTEL, where we offer luxury to die for (Luxury not guaranteed).

Review: My, my, my, if it isn’t a cliffie I didn’t see coming. Just as Adam Vex decides to stop playing Mr. Nice Guy, things go to hell in a handbasket in the most epic of ways. And now he, along with Zee and Victor, appear obliged to partner with someone who will either help them . . . or screw them royally. Only time will tell.
If the enemy of his enemy is truly his friend, Adam has no choice but to side with Seb, Zee’s sleazy ex boss, to figure out how to stop the evil Gideon Cain and, in the process, figure out why Cain is so covetous of the SOS Hotel. It certainly isn’t because of its immaculate reputation and luxurious appointments. So this is the overarching mystery, which couples with the fact that Cain just pulled off the most spectacular of all heists. Like, it’s really, epically bad.
And it spells disastrous things for Adam in the bedroom until he, Zee, and Victor correct the problem.
Adam Vex (Ariana Nash) continues to charm and entice readers with her witty and lovable characters. Tom Collins, the most caustically gifted bartender ever to sling a drink, has found a more thoughtful role in the story, which I love without reservation.
Soft, sweet, and dangerous, Adam himself has been exposed by degrees as more than the regular human guy he’s presented himself as. Or, rather, tried to present himself as. The failing is the double-danger-disaster that gives this installment of the series its bite. And it’s what leads readers into the end of Adam’s adventures with the next book. The final book. The farewell to these delightful characters. I don’t even want to think about that right now.
