“Texas Family” Will Take Hold Of Your Heart And Not Let Go

“If there was no fear, how could there be comfort? Or courage?” ― Veronica Rossi

BLURB: Jack and Riley Campbell-Hayes begin a journey that will change their lives forever.

Set against the backdrop of the Double D, the cast of the Texas books face changes that won’t leave a single one of them untouched.

Jack and Riley want to extend their small family of three. Their first choice is surrogacy with Jack as the father and when all this begins smoothly both men can’t help but contemplate at what point would things go wrong. After all, their lives are far from normal and nothing is ever smooth.

Add a small four year old boy in foster care into the mix and suddenly things become a whole lot more complicated.

REVIEW: I don’t know what it is about this series, but I just can’t seem to get enough of Jack and Riley Campbell-Hayes and the rest of their family. In this latest installment, Jack and Riley decide to expand their little family of three, and the best part is they are in total agreement over the details. The journey they take to get to this larger family brings them into contact with some great people and another little miracle that they didn’t even know they wanted.

One of my favorite parts of this series is that there is so much more to the story than what is going on with Jack and Riley. We also get to catch up with the rest of the clan that we have fallen in love with. There is a quick but very informative visit with Eden and Sean. Just when it seems like things with these two couldn’t get any worse, one small gesture from a well-meaning older brother puts things back on track.

We also get to visit with Eli and Robbie. These two seem to be keeping it together well and have both settled into life on the Double D. Then we got a visit from Beth and Steve, and they have some news that almost brings the Campbell-Hayes family to its knees. Donna and Neil make an appearance, of course, and Lisa, Riley’s former sister-in-law, makes an appearance also. It was like a big ol’ Texas Family reunion with a few newly added guests, and it was heartwarming, touching and O.M.G. HOT!

Riley and Jack surely didn’t disappoint in the smexy parts. They managed to help everyone on the ranch out of a situation or two, attempt to get a woman pregnant and still managed to steam up the windows of the “old barn” just like they have in the past, but with a few new surprises that Jack has cooked up.

While reading this book, I got the feeling that this might be the last book. It seems just about everyone has gotten their HEA and they are happy with their lot in life. However, once I got to the end of the book, Ms. Scott has done it again and left plenty of room for another Campbell-Hayes saga and I for one cannot wait.

You don’t need to read the first three books in the series, this could be a standalone, but I would highly recommend starting at the beginning of this love story. Jack and Riley, along with a FABULOUS supporting cast will grab your heart, and I don’t think you are going to be getting it back anytime soon!

I highly recommend this book and the entire series. You will not be disappointed!
