Or maybe I ought to say sword-in-sheath, as danger seems to be ever lurking nearby.
The series feels a bit like the Musketeers-meet-Alt U, where secrets and alchemy and erotica coalesce, and I have no idea what’s looming on the horizon of this mysterious and mystical realm. This is provocative Saturday Morning Matinee adventure, book-lovers’ style, parceled out in teasing morsels that have left me anxious to see what’s coming next, as an adversary and traitor to the Queen resurfaces, and the hunt for the mercenaries begins.
One thing’s for certain, Benji Bright has got me waiting—patiently or not—for book four next month.
