Oh my gosh! The Novel Approach was nominated by author Cardeno C. for a Very Inspiring Blogger Award! Cardeno is a self-described “hopeless romantic who wants to add a little happiness and a few ‘awwws’ into a reader’s day. Writing is a nice break from real life as a corporate type and volunteer work with gay rights organizations. Cardeno often feels that characters write their own stories and just hopes to find enough time to get those stories on the page. And Cardeno loves to hear from readers so please drop a line to share your thoughts on a story.”
I, for one, am completely down with both the happiness and the awwws, and while I still ask, “Who, me?”, I’m exceeding grateful for the honor. Thanks, Cardeno, very much for the nomination!

1. I am an eternal optimist.
2. I believe that a sense of humor is the one and only key to a sense of balance in my life.
3. I am saddened that we live in a country where people can’t seem to differentiate between the Constitutional right to free speech and the moral imperative to say the right thing and to behave compassionately toward each other rather than to belittle and trample upon other’s feelings and beliefs.
4. I believe that just because you CAN do something doesn’t mean you SHOULD do it.
5. I am appalled that there are people in this country who believe it’s more important to have the right to hug a gun that it is critical to hug and value a child.

Wait what? Where?
I mean YAY because you… you are all the best. *nods* But um… what do I do now?
Seriously, you are a fantastic blogger. Very dedicated and I adore you. You deserve SO many kudos.
I was all, whaaaa…? Because, you know, I mostly just ramble. ::nods::
You don’t have to do anything anything at all because I know you’re busy being all creative and shit. :-D It’s not like a chain letter where, if you break it, you’ll lose all your hair and grow a third eyeball in the middle of your forehead or anything. Maybe… Heh.
Snorts. I could use less hair.
I’m trying to get this chapter balanced. Too soon for sex you think?
Are you ready for my words of wisdom? Here they are:
Where men are concerned, it’s never too soon for sex. Too soon for love, yes, but never too soon for a good boink. :-D
Even though I just recently started following your blog, I have to say that I really enjoy your reviews(even if I don’t always leave a comment). You have a way with words and I bet you would be a great writer. I also like your list. I think we would get along quite well together. :)
I also agree with your words of wisdom to Rhys…it is never too soon for a good boink where men are concerned…LOL!!! :D
See, Rhys? Commence with the humpty-hump, honey. The motion has been seconded and carried. :-D
Lisa, you know, I think one of the most positive things I’ve found in my relatively short time in the M/M reading community is that when it comes to political and social and personal issues, we all pretty much want and believe in the same things. It’s so nice to be able to hang with people who see your point of view. I don’t know about you, but I’m a live and let live kind of girl, and I just want everyone to get along, and to be treated equally and fairly, and to not live with the fear that someday my kids will be going to school with teachers who have guns in their desk drawers.
I come from a family that is largely conservative, I married into a family that is largely conservative, I live in a state that is hugely conservative (Indiana), and I read books that I have very few people I feel comfortable sharing my love of them with. I was telling Rhys one day that it’s almost like I live a double life, where I’m suburban mom and housewife by day, and then I go around pimping the porn at night. LOL. Okay, that’s not true; they’re not all porn. :-D
But I think that’s why I got into blogging, because I just wanted to share my love of some really great books with people who could embrace and understand why I love them. :)
I’m so grateful you’re here to hang out with me. <3
Lisa, I definitely understand what you mean. I think we are in very similar situations. I am from Texas and growing up, I was brought up in the Baptist church. My family is very conservative. My husband is too, even though he was a bit of a wild child growing up. He and I do not agree on several very important social/political issues.
When it comes to books, I don’t think anyone knows what I read. I have dropped a few hints, but like you, I don’t really have people I feel comfortable sharing that information with. I do wonder at times if there are others around that read m/m romance. Surely I’m not the only one! All I can say is that someone is going to be in for a big surprise if they ever look through my Kindle…LOL!
I enjoy hanging out with you, too. There are so many great books that I love and it’s nice to know there are other people that feel the same way. :)
I have to say that I’m really lucky my hubs and I are on the same page on pretty much every single social and political issue that’s a major talking point right now, so it makes life a lot more pleasant. Lemme tell ya’, it took me a lot of years to bring him up just right. LOL. It’s the extended family that’s a hit & miss, though–aggressively Republican. :)
GayRomLit is in Atlanta this year. It’d be great if you could make it. It’s soooo much fun to be at a gathering like that, with not only the authors but the fellow fans too. :)
