“Ten years of dreaming. Three years of saving. Almost a full year of searching for the perfect horse. Six and a half hours squirming behind my desk. And now this.” – L.A. Witt
This is how Nathan feels the first time he gets to ride his prized horse Tsarina. He has always wanted his own horse to train, ride and show, and FINALLY his dream has come true. Unfortunately, day one, ride one turns into a disaster when a motorcycle rider shoots off the bike trails into their path. Falling off the horse would be bad enough, but when the horse falls on Nathan and breaks his leg, his dreams seem to go up in smoke. When Ryan, the motorcyclist that caused the accident, comes up and tries to help Nathan he gets a punch to the face and Nathan ends up with a broken hand to go with his broken leg.
Nathan is bemoaning the fact that he can’t ride his horse for the summer and worrying about her not getting training. He has no idea what he can do, that is until Ryan shows up at the hospital and he and Nathan strike a deal. Ryan ends up getting some riding lessons out of the deal, and Tsarina gets exercised for the summer. It turns out that Nathan gets more then he ever bargained for, however.
You see, Nathan has sworn off relationships. His last two ended up failing completely, and he is just not going to put himself through that again. While getting to know Ryan over the summer, it is revealed that he is not the staying put type, he is basically a wanderer searching for that elusive something that he can never seem to find. Nathan sees this as a win/win situation. He can fool around with Ryan as much as he wants to, and he doesn’t have to worry about any strings or any relationships.
This leads to some pretty hot smexing between Ryan and Nathan, and a wonderful friendship. These two just seem to fit together. Every time they go out for dinner they end up closing down the restaurant since they have so much to talk about. It is amazing to me that it takes as long as it does for Nathan to realize that he fell into a relationship without ever meaning to. As soon as Nathan does realize what’s going on, he makes one of the worst mistakes of his life.
Nathan finds that he misses the closeness he shared with Ryan and maybe he made a huge mistake. He has to decide if he can try again, but no matter what he decides, will Ryan still be there for him IF he decides he wants him back?
I liked this latest book in the Tucker Springs series. We got to see some of the previous MCs in the series, and I have to say I hope someone is planning to do Brad and Jeff’s story. The best part of this series is that every book is technically a stand alone. L.A. Witt really brought Nathan and Ryan to life on the pages and I loved their chemistry. It took them a while to realize what was right in front of them, but they were so cute together on the journey that it didn’t matter. This is a great love story and has only the smallest amounts of angst, so it was a fun read. I highly recommend this book.
L.A. Witt Has given us a story that I long remember – it’s good/
I Love All Of The Tucker Springs Books And This One Was No Exception.
