“He hadn’t stopped Christmas from coming, it came! Somehow or other… it came just the same.” – The Grinch Who Stole Christmas
If you read the blurb for Rebound you’ll pretty much know what the story is all about:
Christmas is a time for peace, love, and goodwill toward mankind. Not! More like cheating exes and absentee friends. For Emmett Byrd, spending the holiday season with his old college friend Terry in San Diego is supposed to be about mending his broken heart. But when Terry deserts him at the last minute, leaving Emmett alone in his condo for Christmas, it’s just the icing on the cake of a crappy year full of betrayal and lost love. The only Christmas spirit this Scrooge is feeling is the alcoholic kind. Then a slightly kooky, unsophisticated farm boy named Sky knocks on the door looking for Terry, and a case of mistaken identity reawakens Emmett’s hope in happily ever after.
Before reading Rebound, I went on a mini reading marathon with this author. Read a previous Christmas story, which I loved! Followed by its sequel, ending up loving that one too!
Soooooo
After reading Rebound, I’m hoping for a sequel. I love the promise of the story, that Emmett and Sky would eventually get together, but I really do detest those stories that leave everything up in the air…. The kind of story that makes you want to stalk and badger the author for MORE!
It has so much potential and promise for becoming a 5 Star read…if there’s a sequel! Especially since I feel that Emmett deserves a HEA with a decent guy. That ex of his was truly scum for what he did.
But at this moment, I’m sticking with a 4 Star rating with this one.
