“Happiness is having a large, loving, caring, close-knit family in another city.” – George Burns
BLURB: Lukas and Taylor are looking forward to Christmas with their two-month-old daughter. However, Taylor’s parents and Lukas’s siblings decide they shouldn’t be alone for the holiday and invade the house. Their intentions are good, but it changes Lukas and Taylor’s plans. So not only is Taylor learning the ropes on his new job, but his and Lucas’s once-quiet house is now overflowing with people, and not all of them get along. Their holiday might crash and burn if they can’t bring their families together.
REVIEW: This was a very sweet story with an established couple that has a two month old little girl. They are all set to celebrate her first Christmas just the three of them. Taylor has just landed a new job and is trying to learn the new system, while Lukas is adjusting to caring for their daughter during the day while he works.
The big surprise comes when Taylor’s parents show up uninvited and unannounced to spend the week with them to celebrate the holidays! Then, just to put a cherry on top, Lukas’s siblings show up, also uninvited and unannounced. It looks like their quiet little Christmas for three has blown up in their face.
For anyone who isn’t married, or has a significant other who comes with family, or who doesn’t have children, this might sound absolutely crazy to you. Let me tell you this: Never underestimate the power of first time grandparents. I think Lukas and Taylor handled everything well, and it was hilarious watching Lukas’s siblings interact with Taylor’s parents.
All in all, it turned out ok and the baby had a wonderful first Christmas. This story is very heartwarming and will make you think about changing your phone number around the holidays.
Highly recommend this lively story.
