Review: What can say about Amy Lane that hasn’t already been said? She’s a phenomenal story teller, she can make you cry and laugh with one sentence. I never pass up a chance to read her books.
This short little story was such a treat to read. I absolutely fell in love with the characters. Zack, so lonely and shy. He works all the time trying to help others, leaving no time for fun. Sean on the other hand, is adorable, happy, full of life and just a breath of fresh air, you can’t help but fall in love with him.
A chance meeting on an elevator is all it takes for Zack and Sean to be smitten with each other. I loved the unique setting of this story, an elevator. What a clever idea. The entire courtship takes place in this little square box, I loved it. I loved the whole concept of them getting to know each other through short slices of conversations. How they were both anxious to see one another, even for only a short time. I was actually starting to get excited right along with Zack as he hurried to the elevator in the morning. I wanted to see Sean too.
I loved watching Zack as he blossomed into the person he so desperately wanted to be. It was interesting to watch his progress overcoming just a little bit of his shyness. The story is told through Zack’s POV. We know the struggles he’s dealing with. I feel as though the author put us in his head because he is so introverted. We would never have found out his true feelings for Sean if we weren’t.
One never expects to find the love of their life in an elevator, but that’s exactly what happened to Zack and Sean.
Highly recommended, especially to you Amy Lane fans out there. Don’t miss this one.
