Review: When Jack Stephens is called to investigate some strange happenings in a woman’s home, he had no idea his world would be rocked all the way to the foundation. Everything he has spent his life trying to prove ends up going directly out the window.
Jack isn’t only skeptical, he debunks hauntings and lectures at the local college about Parapsychology. He was raised around the mystical, and he just doesn’t buy it. When he gets to his latest investigation, he tries to find any reasonable explanation he can for the wild happenings in the house. When Casey Lambeth shows up claiming he is psychic and was led to the home, Jack isn’t buying it for a second. To say these two start out antagonistic is an understatement.
Casey has spent his life being called crazy. He has seen ghosts since he was very young and his dead mother has been with him since he was a child. He has a rough road ahead of him to convince Jack that he isn’t crazy and there may just be ghosts.
When a malevolent spirit decides she wants Casey all to herself and tries to get Jack out of the way, Jack is forced to rethink everything he believes. The two men had to trust one another and work together to save themselves.
This was so much more than just a ghost story or just a love story. Casey has never been lonely in his life because his mother stayed with him, even after death. Jack’s mother is still alive, but he can’t reconcile the love he has for her with her obsession for the mystic.
Through some undeniable happenings, Jack starts to come around to Casey’s side, and they band together to rid themselves of their ghost. Somewhere along the way they start to fall in love, and that causes more problems than solutions.
This is a story of letting go and learning to live again after losing what’s most important to you. There is new love in this story, there is finally saying goodbye and there is healing. Once they find a common ground and their love starts to grow. they put their lives on the line to ensure a stable future for themselves along with saying goodbye to their pasts.
I really liked this book and highly recommend it.
