Review: After falling deeply in love with Slayde and Drake in the first book of this series, I was very excited to see a second book come out. The one drawback I had with this book was the fact that we got only a short glimpse at the previous couple. Otherwise this was a great story.
When Benji is at the end of his rope and needing a job in the worst way, Mannies Inc. comes through with a job for him just in the nick of time. Benji’s dream life would include a family of his own, with kids to raise and a husband to take care of. What he finds is a man who has completely disconnected from his life, his health, and pretty much the whole world.
Will had his whole life planned out. He was married to the perfect man, had a young daughter, and twins on the way. Tragedy strikes and Will ends up living the life of a stranger. He has a young daughter and a set of 6 month old twin girls whom he feels disconnected from. With a stressful job and health problems, he knows he can’t make it without some help. Help comes in the form of Benji the super nanny.
Benji moves in and realizes quickly that he is going to have his hands full. Not only does he have 3 kids under the age of four but an employer who doesn’t take care of himself, let alone spend quality time with the kids. He sets about getting a schedule set and making everyone follow it. Over time, he and Will start spending more time together, and they seem to be falling for one another. Eventually, they end up in a relationship, and Benji realizes he has to help Will get his diabetes under control.
The turning point for Will and Benji comes when Will ends up in the hospital. Benji and the eldest daughter give Will no quarter when he returns home, and they realize their little family has to make some major changes if they want Will to be around for a long time to come.
Eventually all is well in their house, and the men are well on their way to a HEA. I found this to be a very sweet, almost too sweet, story. Benji is a fabulous nanny, and he whips this little family right into shape and found the man of his dreams in the process. Sean Michael has a knack for writing cute kids who pull at your heartstrings but don’t take over the entire story.
I would highly recommend this book and I feel that it can be read as a standalone from the first, but that is a book you don’t want to miss either.
