Review: How do I review Clashing Tempest without giving away spoilers??? Explain the open-ended ending and come to grips with the fact that there will be more Men of Myth???? You mean I have to wait to see what happens with my favorite witch and fairy. And don’t get me started on Brett and Ventait, a certain merman. Brandon Witt you are a bad, bad boy and a tease for leaving all these unanswered questions. Yes, I loved the book, but I am not happy that I have to wait till the next installment! :)
Clashing Tempest is the third book in the Men of Myth series. I’m not going to summarize because there’s a lot going on and you can read the blurb. But I will say is that it’s definitely a much darker story than the previous two because the quest to find out what happened to the missing merman and rescue Cynthia is almost over. It’s dark and painful but totally entertaining, an emotional roller coaster ride that I did not want to end!
In the story, Brett comes into his own as a merman. He is more comfortable in his skin and has better control of his demon powers. Finn’s magic grows as well but with everything that was happening to him, he isn’t too crazy about having special powers. It was interesting to see their inner struggles and their physical and emotional evolution. It made me love them even more. Brett and Finn reunite briefly and have their “closure” but that’s all I’m going to say about it. Brett hooks up with a sexy ass werewolf named Shane. Their encounters are steamy to say the least. I hope Shane gets his own story and it has lots of Shane sex! Finn and Schwint’s relationship grows. Schwint’s love keeps Finn grounded and focused on his task.
Brandon Witt can tell a complex and entertaining story, using just the right words to create a perfect picture. The story flowed from one chapter to the next. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: he needs to write a Men of Myth screenplay!
Clashing Tempest is a must read for anyone who read the first two Men of Myth books. And if you haven’t, pick up all three ASAP!!! I can’t wait to read more!
