HI ALL! I’m Jena Wade, here to talk (Blog?) with you about my novel Lumber & Law – sequel to Shoes & Ties – available from Loose-Id – and what makes my characters sexy.
First of all, writing Jesse Brody was the easiest thing I’ve ever done. He’s funny, he’s candid, and he does whatever he wants, without being the alpha-jerk. That is what made him sexy to me. He says whatever comes to his mind, which sometimes had me thinking – can he/should he really say that? And the answer was always yes, yes he can.
The things that came out of his mouth made me laugh and hopefully they will do the same for the readers. That was my goal with this story – to make readers laugh out loud. Funny men = sexy men.
Troy was a little more difficult. When writing Shoes & Ties I didn’t spend as much time with him as I wanted (in the first draft). So I was super stoked when I got to add the scene at the end at Trent’s house… which I won’t go into detail about in case some haven’t read Shoes & Ties yet…
Anyway, it was a great scene (in my humble opinion ;) ) Troy took the spotlight for a little while, which really kick-started my writing of Lumber & Law.
Troy was sexy because he’s a cop (and who doesn’t love them… in stories, not when they are writing you tickets for speeding). Then… when Troy did what he did to win Jesse back (sorry, but I can’t spoil the ending), he stole the show. It took all of the natural sexiness he had and magnified it by a million… guess you have to read it to find out why.
So, readers – comment for a chance to win a copy of Lumber & Law – but you have to include what you think makes a character sexy! :)
THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED
What makes a character sexy? The same things that makes someone sexy in real life, intelligence, humor, a caring personality, and confidence. If you want to throw in a nice body and some gorgeous eyes I won’t complain!
A great sense of humor, loyal, affectionate and loving. Loved Shoes & Ties – can’t wait to read this one.
A man unapologetic for who he is. He’s self-assured yet shows his softer, caring side; has a positive attitude about life and can laugh at himself; is smart but not a show-off; is strong, honest, loyal, and sweet; carries a natural, sexual edge; loves animals and helping his community. Maybe wears or isn’t opposed to wearing a uniform. ;)
Confidence…I love a man with confidence…and lacy panties…don’t care which color… ;)
I think it is chemistry between the MCs. That seems to make the difference between a sexy book and a meh book.
What makes a character sexy for me? Lets see..someone who is smart, funny, kind, has a protective streak, confident but not arrogant, and affectionate to his lover.
I’m all for gorgeous alpha males with a sweet side
Thank you for the giveaway. Strong, dominant, protective, confident, and masculine, but knows how to be caring and gentle when the time is right.

This looks like a good book and i appreciate the chance to win it!
Longish hair, scruffy face, lanky body, smirky grin with a challenge in his eyes. That’s my sexy, little bit bad, guy.
Humor is very important.
I tend to fall for the anti hero ;) Also, the misunderstood ones. I am a sap for those babies.
A sense of humor is probably number one for me, in fiction or in real life! I love someone who can laugh at themselves.
Thanks for stopping in, everyone, to share your sexy and to enter Jena’s giveaway of Lumber & Law. The contest is closed, and a winner has been selected. An e-copy of the book is headed your way…
