Review: When I first grabbed Foxe Fire for review, I knew there were previous books in the Skyler Foxe Mysteries that I had not yet read. As stated by the author, each probably could stand alone, but it was best to read them all in order. Even though I’m one who has read books out of order, I decided to marathon this series and OMG, and I’m so glad I did.

Skyler and Keith have been living together for three and half months now, and Skyler is quite proud of the fact that not only does he have a boyfriend, but is doing quite well in the “homogamy” or fidelity department, whatever you’d like to call it. But as with any relationship, there are problems.
There’s Keith, who is now the head football coach of Polk High, and he’s been busy with finding replacement assistant coaches for the team, so “tired” has become his middle name of late. Old Skyler has been missing out on some serious loving because of this tiredness. It also doesn’t help that one of the new coaches is a little bit “too friendly” towards Keith. My, my, poor Skyler is feeling the first pangs of jealousy.
Then there’s Dave, a firefighter and one-time trick Skyler hooked up with two years ago. They meet up again while Skyler is trying to put out a brush fire he came upon during one of his morning runs. As it turns out, Dave is later inducted into the SFC by Skyler’s friends. Another reminder to Keith about Skyler’s past…
Okay, now throw in some arson and a murder or two, and we’re all set for some fun, interesting reading.
I really love this series and where it took me. I felt this was the best one yet! Skyler and Keith, even with all their insecurities and jealousies, still manage to work things out in a cute and sweet way. I love how the “L Word” was finally said by Skyler, and I loved how the trust was finally shown between the two.
As a mystery buff, I really enjoyed how well everything was kept from me until the “Big Reveal.” It really is a good mystery when you suspect more than one person. So it’s a 5 Star read, with a high recommendation that you read the first three before this latest installment. As a standalone, you really miss out on getting to know Skyler, Keith, Sidney, and the SFC gang.
I’m just glad that I missed out on all the cliffhangers from the previous books. Hehe…Really!
