L.A. Witt And Marie Sexton Are All Tied Up And Roped In, And We’ve Got Them Here With A Giveaway

Hello! Lori and Marie here, talking today about our newest release, Roped In. A couple of days ago, Marie made me (Lori) answer a few questions, so today, I’m turning the tables and putting her on the spot…

Lori: Tell us a little about the secondary characters of Roped In, and whether or not we might see them again.

Marie: I seem to have a fondness for gruff, grumpy, bad boys, and this story is no exception. This time around, I fell in love with Jackson, Graham’s roping partner and unrequited love interest. Jackson started out as a bit of an asshole, but as we wrote, I developed a soft spot for him. And yes, we will definitely see him again. In fact, I spent a nice chunk of my morning outlining bits of his story. 

Lori: Out of all the characters you’ve ever written, who is your favorite and why?

Marie: Angelo, of course, because he’s so impetuous and irrational and snarky. But I also really loved Dante. He’s just so angry and confused and apologizes for nothing. (In fact, he’s an awful lot like Jackson.)

Lori: What’s one time or place you’d like to write about, but haven’t yet?

Marie: Hmm… I’m not sure. And honestly, whatever I chose, I’d probably end up warping it. For a while, I wanted to write a western, and I ended up with Oestend (which is sort of like the old west, but with a few obvious changes). Then, I wanted to write something akin to Dickens’ London, and I did. But I went and added cyber implants. So while I could say I’d like to write a medieval story, I’d probably end up adding space ships or some damn thing.

Lori: Since you made me cop to it … name one irrational phobia you have.

Marie: Earwigs!!! *shudder* Wiggly, nasty little things.

Lori: What are you working on now?

Marie: I’m still trying to finish up the second book in my dark, kinky, semi-cyberpunk story. The first book, Release, will be available in June. The second book, Return, will be available in October. (Assuming writing the damn thing doesn’t kill me dead.) Release and Return will be published under the name A.M. Sexton. (You can find an explanation of why I chose to use a different pen name HERE)

And, of course, I’m plotting the follow-up to Roped In, where Jackson will get his HEA.

BLURB: Graham and his roping partner Jackson have ruled the rodeo scene for ten years running, but lately, Graham’s heart isn’t in the game. He’s tired of the bruises, the cowboy mentality, and the animal rights activists who picket every event. And then there’s Jackson.

Graham and Jackson have been friends since they were boys. But ever since their drunken sexual encounter the year before, things have been awkward. Graham’s accepted that he might be gay, but no matter how attracted he is to other men, he always panics and runs when the clothes start to come off.

Then Graham has a run-in with one of the rodeo protesters, and everything changes. Kaz is young, idealistic, and sexy as hell. And Kaz has an idea for getting Graham past his nerves and into bed.
All they need is a bit of rope.

Genres: Gay / Contemporary / Cowboys / Western (Modern Day) / BDSM (Light)
Heat Level: 3
Length: Extended Novella (39k words)
