Review: I read Every Move He Makes a while back, so when it came to us for review I picked it up again. I didn’t remember much about the book from the first read, other than I liked it. Reading it again reminded me how much I enjoyed this book. The second time around was just as good as the first. The story was fast, fun, sexy and kept me on the edge of my seat. I was entertained from the first to the last word!
I will say this, the plot is complex and you need to pay attention. I have to admit that I had to re-read a few parts just to get all of it. The story starts out with Logan, an MI6 operative who’s recovering from injuries after a botched undercover job. He was almost beaten to death and as a result, he’s got a new face. As a test to see if the new face works, his boss takes him to his own “funeral” to see if anyone recognizes him. No one does except his Autistic twin brother. Logan’s family history is complicated with lots of drama and pain. But as it turns out, everything that he’s done has been to secure his brother’s well being, his family is still his number one priority. His love for his brother is unconditional.
Logan’s boss gives him his next assignment, protecting a Russian businessman’s wayward son, Zak. Zak is sex on legs, not what Logan is used to, but eventually, he comes around. He’s also a washed up musician, who blames himself for his mother’s death. Zak also has a death wish, pissing off a Russian mobster. Someone is trying to kill him. Is it the Russian Mob, or MI6, or is it all a set up for something else. Through some maneuvering, Logan gets the job and loses his heart to Zak. There is mutual attraction from the first moment they meet. Both get under each other’s skin. Zak is a wise ass and pushes all of Logan’s buttons. And Logan is everything that Zak wants and needs.
At this point they don’t know who’s friend or foe, so to protect Zak, Logan takes him out of London and they head to Scotland. While they are on the run, their mutual attraction intensifies. Logan knows that it’s a mistake to get involved with Zak, who’s a bit unstable and maybe a drug/alcohol addict. He is charged with protecting Zak and that’s a big conflict of interest. Mixing business and pleasure is always a bad idea, but they can’t help themselves any longer. When they finally give in, it’s explosive! They are perfect together. Their dialogue and body language was so believable I found myself as that proverbial fly on the wall, watching them. They are both alphas, and it was fun to watch them butt heads and try to figure out how it was going to work between them. Who was going to be on top? LOL In the end they both realized that they needed to change to be together. There are many more plot twists, but you’ll have to read because I’m not giving away any spoilers.
Every Move He Makes is a must read. If you love spy thrillers with two bad boys who are very good together, then this book is a winner. But read it slowly because it needs to be savored.
