Considering I’m someone who doesn’t like large crowds or parties, I’m a little over the moon about attending GRL for the first time this October. I’d dreamed of being a published author since high school (let’s pretend that wasn’t that long ago), and the past two years since seeing that dream become a reality have been full of many firsts. Acquiring a spot at GRL, seeing my name listed with many wonderful authors was one of those surreal I’m making it, I’m actually making it! moments. There are so many authors, bloggers, and readers that I’m dying to meet. And that is saying something for me. I tend to be one of those who only likes very small groups of tried and true friends. Although I know it’s not perfect, and I probably still have on rose-colored glasses, after coming from the church world and the politics of the education world, our little universe of M/M writers and readers has been so welcoming and supportive. Truly, you all are an astounding and loving group of freaky people. You’re beautiful, and I can’t wait to meet as many of you as possible.
To celebrate this year’s GRL conference, four other authors (J.P. Barnaby, William Cooper, Ethan Stone, Sara York) and myself got together and plotted and schemed of a project. What was birthed was an erotic anthology, with each story happening at a Gay Writing Conference. Coincidence? Perhaps. The e-version of Authors Gone Wild will be available in September and the paperback will arrive at GRL for your hungry little fingers to grab onto. You may want to read this one with a friend. You’ll need someone to fan you while you indulge…
Don’t believe me? J.P. Barnaby is offering a little taste from her contribution of Cock and a Hard Dom:
“Put it on, I want to watch for a minute before I bury myself in you,” Sean murmured against his temple. Brandon didn’t want to move. He liked Sean’s lips against his forehead.
“Go on, now,” Sean said, swatting Brandon on the ass to make him crawl onto the bed with Robin. It took only a moment for him to roll the condom up his dick. Sean handed him a bottle of lube, and he drizzled a bit over his cock and then over Robin’s hole. Robin reached back and rubbed the liquid into the puckered skin. He kept to the rim for a moment before two fingers disappeared inside his body. Watching Robin fuck his ass with his fingers made rubbing lube onto his cock torturous for Brandon. Every bit of his skin tingled with sensitivity.
Brandon shuffled forward on his knees, and Robin dropped his hands back to the bed, his ass open and ready.
“Fuck him hard,” Sean whispered against Brandon’s neck. “Make him cry like the little puppy he is.”
Robin whimpered as Brandon rubbed his hard dick against his exposed hole. A full body shiver made the boy tremble and Brandon put his hand on a slim hip, holding Robin still as he pressed his sheathed cock against the tiny entrance. He didn’t think about signings or fans or crowds as his dick slid into the hot ass before him. No, all he thought about was the heat, the pleasure, and Sean’s approval.
I also have a novel of my own coming out just in time for GRL. It is about as far from the erotic anthology as you can get. For those of you who might have read my first novel, The Shattered Door, I’ve returned to that small Ozark town in Missouri. Although it is not a sequel and you won’t need to read Shattered, there are a few returning characters that some of you will remember. Then the Stars Fall is the first book I’ve written that I’ve considered a romance. Although, it is a romance the way I write romance, we Gemini’s are so difficult! It is a character study of relationships, family, grief, and renewal. Then the Stars Fall is, at its core, a slice of life and bit of Americana. I can honestly say there’s never been a book more challenging for me to write, nor one that poured out so quickly. For two months, all I did was teach and come home and pound the keyboard. I packed on about twenty pounds in the process (gotta lose those before GRL!), and lost myself entirely to Travis Bennett, as he struggled to raise his children after losing his wife to cancer, and Wesley Ryan, as he began to build a new life in the most unlikely of places. Thank God I have a very patient boyfriend, as I was more immersed in their lives than I was my own for a little bit. For those of you that are friends with me on facebook, there are two very important characters in Stars that you already know. My two corgis, Dunkyn and Dolan, are pivotal little, fury guys in the storyline. In truth, they were the initial inspiration for the novel. They are still more excited about dog bones and walks than knowing that they are in a novel. Ungrateful. Thank goodness they’re cute!
I’ve heard that there are several people trying to read at least one thing from each author at GRL before October. Good on you! That is impressive! I’m reading as many as I can, but as I’m a slow reader, I have no delusions. If you are one of those, or simply want to read one of my books, here’s a little guidance. I always get asked which book I recommend for someone to read. To which I then ask which of their children is their favorite. They of course can’t answer. Or, if they can, the known better to actually say it out loud. It is the same for me. I love all of my ‘children’ equally. However, here’s some help. If you like family drama, overcoming abuse, with a lot of religious overtones thrown in, try The Shattered Door. If you like dark urban fantasy, then my Men of Myth series are the ones for you. I will warn you, the first one, Submerging Inferno is slower paced than it two younger brothers, Rising Frenzy and Clashing Tempest. I took my time in world building. Some people love that, some don’t. Remember, I told you, Gemini’s are difficult. And, of course, if you are only planning to purchase one of books, please buy Grand Adventures, if you haven’t already. I have a short story in there, and all proceeds go to help Eric Arvin and TJ Klune.
Thank you for spending a bit of time with me today. Until GRL, you can find me on Facebook and Twitter, and for the bravest of you, you can also find me on The Witty Hour (tread carefully).
Brandon Witt is many things. Above all, he is living the dream. After years of writing and reaching for the stars, he is a published author through Dreamspinner Press. Thus far, his novels include The Shattered Door and three installments of the Men of Myth series.
In addition, Brandon has worked with children with emotional disabilities since 2000 and has been a special education teacher since 2007. He has degrees in both Youth Ministry and Special Education.
For the first eighteen years of life, Brandon lived in a small Ozark town, El Dorado Springs, Missouri before moving with his family to Colorado.
The tension of his religious upbringing and being a gay man finds its way onto nearly every page in his novels, as does experiences that over a decade of loving children who have faced much abuse and many struggles. Reflecting what he has discovered to be true in life, Brandon’s writing does not shy away from challenges and conflict but also revels in the joy that can only happen when truly embracing and loving all that life has to offer.
In addition, he is a proud father of two insanely cute Corgis: Dunkyn and Dolan.
Please drop a line, I would love to hear from you. As would Dunkyn and Dolan! :)

If I am not your winner, please consider doing a backlist book swap with me sometime :)
Well, take care and best wishes, as always.
