Blurb: For ex-cop turned private investigator Cole McGinnis, each day brings a new challenge. Too bad most of them involve pain and death. Claudia, his office manager and surrogate mother, is still recovering from a gunshot, and Cole’s closeted boyfriend, Kim Jae-Min, suddenly finds his teenaged sister dumped in his lap. Meanwhile, Cole has his own sibling problems—most notably, a mysterious half brother from Japan whom his older brother, Mike, is determined they welcome with open arms.
As if his own personal dramas weren’t enough, Cole is approached by Madame Sun, a fortune-teller whose clients have been dying at an alarming rate. Convinced someone is after her customers, she wants the matter investigated, but the police think she’s imagining things. Hoping to put Sun’s mind at ease, Cole takes the case and finds himself plunged into a Gordian knot of lies and betrayal where no one is who they are supposed to be and Death seems to be the only card in Madame Sun’s deck.
Review: I absolutely love Dirty Laundry! This is the third Cole McGinnis audio book, and they just keep getting better. What can I say? I love a story that keeps me guessing about what will happen next!
And things do always seem to happen to Cole McGinnis… From running for his life with a poodle in a baby carrier strapped to his chest (funny), to an accidental and inappropriate proposition toward Jae-Min’s sister, Tiffany (oh, the fall out that follows that one is heartbreaking), to the moment Cole first meets his half-brother, Ichiro (~sighs~), to the mystery that doesn’t reveal its answers until nearly the very end (surprise!). Darn it, I could go on and on about all the things that happen while listening, but I really don’t want to spoil it for anyone else. Let’s just say that as an audio lover, when the story and narration is top notch, which this is, one cannot not go wrong with adding Dirty Laundry to their listening experience. Especially if one has been following the series from the beginning.
I’m ever so grateful Dreamspinner and Rhys Ford took the time to find Greg Tremblay to narrate this series. Greg’s talent for giving his characters voice is boundless, and I am so looking forward to listening to Dirty Deeds!
Dirty Laundry is a real easy dirty 5 Star rating and is highly recommended audio for a series that has become very addicting!
