Firstly, thank you, Lisa, for having me on your blog today.
The final book in my fantasy trilogy has just been released, and though the story ends here for Nykin and Ryneq, I’ve had such a great time writing them.
The Torsere series follows Ryneq, ruler of Torsere, and Nykin, a dragon rider in his army. They are thrust together when King Ryneq is captured by the lowland armies and Nykin volunteers to rescue him. Their relationship continues to grow and flourish, despite all the external conflict surrounding them as they struggle to forge a union with the elves of Hervath, to gain magical protection for Torsere.
Finally, they are forced to defend their home against both the combined forces of the lowland armies and a witch, and Nykin is forced to make a huge sacrifice to help save the kingdom.
Throughout all three books, Nykin’s dragon, Fimor, plays an important part. He and Nykin have a telepathic connection, and Fimor is not shy at offering up his opinions on everything from Nykin’s flying ability to his love life.
I love dragons. Whether they’re in books, films, or anything else. Dragonheart was one of my favourite films, and yes, that’s partly because the dragon had Sean Connery’s voice, but I just loved his attitude and personality. Kilgarrah from Merlin, is also pretty great, and the many fantasy books I’ve read over the years almost always have dragons in them to some extent.
I always imagine them as incredibly smart and full of wisdom since they’ve been alive for hundreds of years, and I really wanted to write a story where a dragon was linked to one of the main characters, but was also just as important to the story.
Fimor turned out just as I wanted. He’s funny, opinionated, brave, and loyal. As Nykin’s bonded dragon, he puts Nykin’s welfare above that of all others, and would do anything to protect him.
Blurb: King Ryneq and his dragon rider consort, Nykin, return to Torsere to defend the kingdom against the lowland armies already camped along Torsere’s borders. Seran wants the dragons, and with a new witch in his ranks, war is inevitable.
With the elves of Hervath now helping them, Ryneq has a chance at holding Seran at bay. But the witch is using old dark magic, and as Nykin and the dragon riders battle her deadly attack, unexpected betrayal forces Ryneq to make a difficult decision.
Faced with the prospect of losing his kingdom, Ryneq gambles on a plan that could ultimately save Torsere, if they can stay alive long enough to see it through. With Ryneq standing against Seran and his witch, time is of the essence, and Nykin must make a sacrifice to end the war. Only then will Ryneq and Nykin be able to start a life together.

Count me in! Who doesn’t love dragons? >)
Dragons have always held a profound fascination for me, beginning when I first read the Dragonriders of Pern in high school. Anne McCaffrey’s books were a refuge whenever things were bad. If I could choose one mythological creature to be real, it would be the fire lizards from her Harper Hall books, set in the same world as the Dragonriders. A tiny dragon, small enough to ride on your shoulder – what could be better?
The cover art for your series is lovely. Best of luck with the latest release, and please continue creating such wonderful worlds for us to enjoy. I’m excited to see where you’ll take us next. :-)
Greetings, everyone, and a very happy Saturday to all of you. Thanks so much for stopping by to enter Annabelle’s giveaway. The contest is closed now, and the winner’s been drawn. A reader’s choice e-copy of one of the Torsere books goes to
