Blurb: The paranormal world is in chaos. The elders are tired of their younger people playing the field, causing trouble, and fighting with each other. Everyone who attends the UPAC Conference now has twenty-four hours to claim a mate of a different species. If they don’t, they will never have a mate. The spell is cast. There is no escaping the Midnight Matings.
Beauregard Stratford is a bunny shifter. Simple enough, right? Unfortunately, he is the only white bunny shifter in existence. He also is cursed with violet eyes, hyperactivity, a strong weakness for anything shiny, and a penchant for leaving bubble gum everywhere.
When he finds himself mated to Sebastian Drakus, a dragon shifter and prince of his kind, Beauregard can’t seem to make himself behave no matter how hard he tries. He wants to be good, to make Sebastian proud of him, really he does, but things just keep happening to him…bubble gum mishaps, getting drunk, not to mention the fact that he is a true bunny and constantly horny. Nothing seems to go right. Can he convince Sebastian he’s worth the trouble, or will the dragon prince wash his hands of the whole bunny fiasco?
Review: I absolutely loved this audio version of Scales and a Tail by Stormy Glenn.
After the Elders made their announcement, and all hell broke loose as everyone who attended the gathering starts claiming their mates, Sebastian Drakus thinks the only way out of this fiasco is to grab a bunny shifter after saving him from another, claim him as his mate in front of the elders, then leave the great hall and later release the man. What he didn’t know at the time was the Elders were serious when he presented his bunny as his mate. Casting a spell that bonds their life forces together, Sebastian, the prince of dragons, finds out that he’s mated for life to a bunny, Beauregard.
OMG…Sebastian is going to be the laughing stock of his people!
As for Beauregard, since he’s the only white rabbit with purple eyes, he’s been a bit of an outcast in his colony. When he finds out that he’s mated to a rather good looking dragon… well, he has no problem giving up his virginity to the beast! Did you know that rabbits are known to be quite flexible and horny. ~winks~
The blurb really is good at explaining Beauregard, but what it doesn’t mention is that Sebastian can be a bit of a jerk, and Beauregard is not one to be mistaken as lite and fluffy. This bunny can bite when he needs to stand up for himself.
Stormy Glenn, with the help of vocals by Johnny East, brings to life a rather cute, funny, and sweet tale of two unlikely people meeting and falling in love with each other. I’ve never heard of Johnny East before, but his performance had me oohing and aahing, as well as laughing my fanny off! Not to mention, I’ve now converted another to M/M romances since I didn’t listen to this one by myself while driving.
I’m giving Scales and a Tail a 5 Star rating and would highly recommend this one if you need to smile and have a good chuckle.
