Hi there! I’m Bailey Bradford and I’m here to chat about something new I’ve got starting up at Totallybound.com! It’s called Valen’s Pack, which is a gay erotic romance, a post-apocalyptic shifter series, and the first book is titled Run With the Moon.
Valen’s Pack: Run With the Moon brings Valen to life, and in it, he has some challenges to face. The first is being required to leave his pack and find a place to start up his own. There can’t be two mature alphas in a pack, it just isn’t done. Too much fighting. Even so, Valen doesn’t want to leave, and he wishes he hadn’t been born an alpha.
What he finds when he leaves his pack lands surprises him. He’s never seen a human before—they managed to almost wipe themselves out entirely. When he runs into a man trying to steal his pack, Valen gets up close and personal with the sexy Aaron as soon as Aaron will allow it.
Aaron’s got his own set of problems. He doesn’t fit in with the human village he was raised in, and he’s not sure just why. It isn’t until he meets one stunning alpha male that he learns all about the differences between him and the other people he knows, and just why he’ll never be able to live up to his parents’ expectations.
Being alone in the world is a scary thing, and sometimes, we’re alone even when we’re around other people. Aaron knows that. He’s lived it. It’s something I can identify with, and I wanted to bring it out in a story.
There is loss, and pain, and very hot loving in Run With the Moon. Loss is a tricky thing to write about. It’s such a personal experience for each individual, and what may touch one might not work at all for another.
Thinking about a post-apocalyptic world, I had to wonder, what would it really be like? Can you imagine not having any electricity? No phones or TV’s, no radios or computers? Nothing but the bare bones of a civilization to build up from? If there was even time to build. Surviving would require a lot of available time, and nowadays, how many people would know how to make it if everything modern was gone in the blink of an eye?
This was a fun story to write, and I was eager to get onto the second one, which is already turned in. I’d love to be able to just write out the whole series, but I’ve got lots of things going on. The next Leopard’s Spots book, for instance, and a tenth and final Love in XXchange book. There’s a standalone, Belt Buckles and Cowboy Boots, that’s coming out soon and I can’t tell you how much I love that story. But, I love all of them. The characters stay with me, and the ideas for more stories keep coming. That’s why I have so many series going. It’s really hard for me to let go :D
