Hello and thank you for joining me as I bid a fond farewell to Ty and Zane on the Crash & Burn virtual tour! For the next five days, join me on my virtual stops to help me say goodbye to the Cut & Run series with cut scenes, playlists, behind the scenes looks at the process of writing this last book, and a peek at the original plan for the series and the twists and turns it took on its journey to the end.
Did I mention the prizes? I have incredible prizes for two winners; a go-bag put together by one B. Tyler Grady. Each bag has over $370 worth of goodies in it. For more detail on the contents, you can click the link at the end of this post! Every comment on this blog tour enters you in a drawing to win one of these bags. Entries close at midnight, Eastern Time, on April 4, and winners will be announced on April 6th. Contest is valid worldwide.
Today I come bearing a cut scene from Crash & Burn:
He was bundled up in his heaviest coat, two scarves, some fluffy Philadelphia Eagles ear muffs Deuce had sent him as a joke for Christmas, and a pair of work gloves missing the thumbs. He had one of Zane’s coffee mugs clutched to his chest, steam rising from it. It wasn’t coffee inside, though, but a mug of chocolate milk he’d tossed in the microwave for two minutes to make it into some discount hot chocolate. He was fucking freezing. He refused to go inside, though. He felt violated inside.
He’d found, in the last couple of weeks, that he couldn’t think inside. He couldn’t function. Just knowing someone was monitoring him, listening to every sound he made, it made him twitchy. Claustrophobic. He’d started talking to himself, like he was narrating for the eavesdroppers. Got to go shower, I’m dirty. Hungry, going to go fix a sandwich.
He was literally going crazy.
He took a sip of his hot chocolate and muttered to the car. “Must be nice, just sitting here. All you got to do is roll around, gas up, look awesome. Asshole.”
The car didn’t respond, thank God, but Ty did hear something. He cocked his head, scowling as he strained his ears. It came again, a distant knocking.
Ty pushed himself to his feet and hustled into the house. “Coming!” he called out, and he set his mug on the counter as he jogged toward the front door.
He had no idea who to expect, since people rarely showed up at his door in the middle of the day, but when he opened it up he was still shocked.
John English was dressed impeccably. Designer sunglasses, wool overcoat, and sheepskin gloves. He grinned when he saw Ty. “Grady,” he said, taking off his sunglasses. “You sure do go all out for guests.”
Ty looked down at his gray sweatpants and puffy down coat and fur-lined moccasins.
“I . . . whatever, dude, I’m retired,” he said with a shrug. He offered his hand to English, then pulled him in for a hug. “What the hell are you doing here, man?”
“I was passing through town, thought I’d come see you and Garrett, see how you are.”
Ty glanced into the house, ever mindful of the listening devices looking over his shoulders all the time. “Uh. Garrett’s, umm . . . Garrett’s gone for a while. You got a few hours? We’ll go get a beer.”
“Sure, yeah. I’m buying.”
Ty had him come in as he went upstairs and changed. He threw on some jeans and a T-shirt, digging out his favorite leather coat and a plain knit beanie that wouldn’t get him killed by a Ravens fan when they walked into a bar like his earmuffs would.
English was wandering around the living room, looking at Ty’s pictures when Ty thumped back down the stairs.
“Garrett out of town?” he asked, jutting his thumb toward one of the black and white photographs of Ty and Zane on the wall.
“No,” Ty answered, barely choking out the word. “I’ll tell you about it over lunch.”
English didn’t ask more questions, but he frowned the entire time as Ty locked up the house. As soon as they reached the sidewalk, Ty glanced over his shoulder at the front door. “The house is bugged.”
“What?”
“My house. Someone’s bugged it. Zane and I faked a nasty fight to get him out of the house without raising suspicion.”
“Oh thank God, man!” English said, putting his hand to his heart. “Those ear muffs . . . I thought you were going through some massive relationship ordeal and I don’t know you well enough to deal with that shit.”
Ty laughed heartily as they headed toward Fell’s Point. They’d met John English in Scotland at Deuce’s wedding, and though Ty’d had suspicions about the massive Snake Eater and his crew at first, English had proved himself to be a trustworthy companion. Ty had kept in touch with him over the last year, much to Zane’s chagrin.
“What are you doing in Baltimore?” Ty asked again.
“I was actually up at Cumberland,” English said, losing the bounce to his voice.
“The prison or the mountain range?”
“Prison. Frost is up there.”
Ty nodded in understanding. Frost had been part of English’s team. He’d killed a lot of people in Scotland. Ty couldn’t imagine what it must feel like to find out one of your teammates could do such a thing.
“What’d he have to say?” Ty asked carefully.
“A year later and he still swears he didn’t kill the FBI guy.”
“Richard Burns.”
“Yeah. He admits to everything else that went down on that island, but he swears on his mother’s grave he didn’t kill Burns.”
Ty clucked his tongue, glancing at English as a light snow began to fall. “You believe him?”
“I do, yeah. That’s why I’m here.”
Ty frowned and they stopped walking when they came to an intersection.
“I don’t think Frost killed the man,” English said with a heavy sigh. “And that leaves the question I came here to ask you.”
“And what’s that?”
“Do you trust all your people?”
“What?” Ty asked, laughing even though English was dead serious. “Of course I do.”
“So did I,” English said grimly.
Ty was speechless. Was English saying he thought one of Ty’s friends or family could have killed Burns? “No,” he said with a wave of his hand.
English winced. “Understand me, I’m not here to make accusations on the people you care about, I’m here to help you. And since you got a bug in that place of yours, I’m even more glad I came here. I think you need to clean your own house, Grady. Take a good hard look at it and decide who you can trust. I don’t want you to get hurt.”
Ty looked away, staring off toward the harbor and the quaint little shops and taverns of Fell’s Point. His breath came out in a puff in the freezing air. “Yeah, okay,” he finally said. “Come on, man, I’ll buy you some crab cakes.”
English didn’t bring up the matter again as they ate and drank. He seemed to realize Ty had taken his words to heart, that he didn’t need to harp on it.
By the end of their lunch, Ty had English convinced to help him with a plan he’d been pondering the last twenty-four hours. They headed back for the row house, neither of them quite sober anymore, but that worked well for what Ty needed.
“So you want to pick up your bed,” English said as they strolled down the sidewalk, “and toss it into your listening points to get rid of them.”
“Yeah. Accidental bug destruction because me and my buddy were too drunk to be moving a bed!”
“How long has that plan made sense to you?”
“Long enough, let’s do this,” Ty said with a clap of his hands.
“So your wedding present is basically making sure your home is clear of people eavesdropping on you when you have sex.”
Ty smacked the big man on the shoulder, grinning. “I knew you’d understand.”

Awww I like English! He seems like such a big burly sweetheart!
HA! I love it!! What a classic scene! And how could you go wrong with a plan like that!?
I don’t want it to end… I love Ty & Zane! :)
I’m gonna miss Ty and Zane. I’ve been with them from the beginning. They’re great for re-reads. :-)
What a great cut. Thanks so much for sharing.
I love this bit. I can see why it was taken out, but I’m happy she could still share!!!
Ty and Zane were my first. They have become an important part of a family which includes couples like Adrien and Jake, Griffin and Whyborne, Tom and Phil or Crane and Stephen… But they will always be my first… Thank you, Abigail! <3
I love them and wish them a happy end….but I can`t verify this, because I am too scared to read the last book.
Love this series! Sad and excited to read how it ends!
I’m so happy that we get little extras like this on the blog tour <3 Can't wait to read the book!
Ty & Zane were my first. They won’t be my last, but will always be my favorite, forever owning a piece of my heart. Many thanks to Abigail for giving them life. She showed us that flaws in any form can be beautiful and that love can truly conquer all. I didn’t want their story to end, but since it has, I am grateful it was done in such a wonderfully & satisfying way.
I can’t believe its over, but the book was sooooo good. Ty & Zane will always have a special place in my heart. ❤️??
Awww, thank you so much for that cut scene. I saw English being mentioned in the book, it’s nice to see the scene where he clears the bugs. This blog tour is awesome stuff. Great characters, great writing, fantastic connections to your readers. A series I love and will be subject of many re-reads and recommendations.
I am reading Crash & Burn right now, I expect it will take extra long to read it cause I don’t want it to end. I love Ty & Zane.
Loved it! Thanks so much :)
Loved this but it makes to sense to leave that out. The reveal in the book is more powerful without it. I’d like to see more of John English…..oh god…..I really hope the Sidewinder books go on a while because I want more from this universe.
glad to see English again. i actually liked him in Ball & Chain. oh and i loved loved C&B so so muuuch
I usually read a book as fast as I can, but with this one, I am taking my time, savouring the moments> if this is to be the last, I will make it last.
I am really going to miss Ty and Zane, but what an epic ending! Loved this deleted scene with English….I liked him in B&C, and was so glad he turned out to be a good guy. Thank you Abi for a wonderful series! I I’ll always go back and visit them from time to time. <3
Awesome cut scene. I hope we can see English again, maybe in the sidewinder series.
This was a great scene, which makes sense once you’d read the book. Too bad it got left out, then again, it’s good it got left out because I’d have tipped me toward suspicion, and it would’ve made the final reveal less shocking. Well done. And poor Ty. Microwaved chocolate milk? Ugh.
John English is such a great friend. Lol Ty’s plans are always so hilarious.
I love these little snippets so much. I almost had a heart attack though with the car sceene and Nick in the book knowing what that one started out as…
Thanks for sharing the scene.
Awesome scene! Thanks for giving us the tidbits!
I loved it!
I’m going to miss them! Love it!
This was awesome.
Going to miss these guys! Thanks for the scene!
LOVED LOVED LOVED this book!
That was great – wondered what the background was on John English stopping by.
That cut scene was great! Bug destruction is always a valuable gift.
The last book was really great.
I love Ty and Zane. They feel like family at this point. Crash and Burn was fantastic.
Finished it Sunday and what a great ending to my favorite series. Thanks Abi for bringing us this amazing series and characters!
Ahh, that was a good cut scene. If left in, I don’t think Nick’s confession would have been as jarring to us, the readers.
Thanks for a great run, Abi!
I am always sad when a series ends.
i definitely need to go back and reread Ball & Chain – so many things are going to make sense now!
I love this series and am so sad to see it end, Ty and Zane have been one of my favourite couples since I first read cut and run way back , thanks for a brilliant series Abi and thanks for the giveaway x
Fell hard when I read the first book and never got back up. I will be sorry to see it end–but this is a series I will read over and over again from the beginning, so Ty and Zane will never not be part of my life!
I love Ty and Zane. Thank you for letting us Cut and Run with them!
Thanks for the cut scene. Still letting the series end sink in :(
I love John. Glad to see him. Love it
I love Ty and Zane, my favorite series.
Awww, English! Loved this cut scene!
Ohh love the cut scene!
Nice! Like the cut away scene.
Thanks for sharing that scene. Knowing that conversation must have been playing in Ty’s head before everything went down the way it did gives things some more perspective, but I understand why it was cut.
wow. love the cut scene.
Love the scene, thanks :-)
I have the book but haven’t read it yet because I don’t want it to end. I know, childish, but that’s how I’m dealing right now. Lol
Love the cut scene. Good to see English again.
Thank you for the cut scene, any additions to Ty and Zane’s world are welcome. I will never love any characters more than yours, and although I will miss Ty and Zane, I can’t wait for the next series and their guest appearances!
That scene needed to be in the book! I loved it! I hope John English shows up in the sidewinder books too!
LOL That was great. I love Ty in his comfy clothes.
Great scene!
Awww, English…I’m glad we got to see this cut scene
Loving the treat scene, cannot wait to get my hands on this book!
Thanks for the cut scene. I love to be able to fill in little details in a book. The final book was amazing, but I am very sad to say goodbye to Ty and Zane. Thank you for them.
Aww, this scene is lovely, thank you for sharing this wonderful series with us!!
I will miss this series. :(
Beautiful scene!
Awww I’m gonna miss the boys, but I look forward to more Sidewinder books!
Loved that cut scene!
Loved the scene. Classic Ty. Thanks so much for sharing.

This was a really good scene mada me like English much more than before
Oooh, interesting … I almost wish the scene hadn’t been cut! That may have more to do with John English, though. And Ty talking to his car. That boy is wrong in the head and I love him for it. Thanks for this!
Such a great plan, Ty! I enjoyed seeing English again in such a good scene. Thanks for sharing it, Abi.
So wish there would be a #10. Ty and Zane are awesome!
That was great!
i’ve read Crash and Burn twice already lol
if Ty & Zane had to finally fade out to have their HEA this was the perfect way. Leaving us with their dream come true.
Wondered what English was doing at the row house.
If Ty & Zane needed to fade into the sunset for their HEA this was the best ever way. Both of them getting their dream.
Wondered why English was around???
Thanks Abi for sharing with us.
Great scene but I can understand why it was cut. Hopefully Abi will reveal more of these to us as time goes on. :)
That was such a nice surprise…so sad it’s over tho
Okay I am now chuckling out loud at work. Thanks for letting us see this little tidbit. The plan is just sooooo Ty. Thanks again for an awesome series Abi!
What a great scene. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Great scene! It fills in a little chip in the story. Thanks for posting it.
Aww, that’s a great scene!
Oh, hell. I honestly flinched reading this. I love all these boys so much! So incredibly much… And as sorry as I am to see the series come to an end, I fully intend to absorb every word Abi Roux puts out because she is officially my emotional puppetmaster! (puppetmistress?)
No please don’t end!! I want more pleaseee!!! This was so great!!
Ty and Zane are so perfect! I don’t mean perfect as in no flaws but because their flaws fit their personalities and each other. And because they do yin and yang so completely that’s what makes them perfect. So gonna miss them :)
Awww, love this deleted scene!! ♥
I still can’t believe it. C&R was my first M/M. Thank you for changing lives, Abi. You are legendary.
Awww, I’m reading it now and trying to go very slowly so I don’t finish it too soon :'( I don’t ever want to let them go!
Loved this cut scene by the way, thanks <3
That hat…! Ahahah!
I love this! I’m going to keep an eye out for more cut scenes on this tour, because I love them so, so much. How can I laugh and then hurt so much in such a short space of time? (And then laugh again). And having read the book and knowing what unfolds… So artfully done, everything in just the right place. Well done, Abi, it’s a masterpiece (everything is a masterpiece – this cut scene, C&B, the whole series).
Thank you so much for sharing that scene. I will miss Ty & Zane.
Love this! What a great scene.
Aw, Abi, I love how your brain works. And, by extension, how Ty’s brain works. His plan to de-bug the house is hysterically diabolically crazy yet brilliant. Squirrels with knives, man. I love Ty, Zane and all our Sidewinder boys…
I love this cut scene. Ty’s outfit cracks me up!
I love the cut scene. Would have loved to see those two drunk moving a bed lol.
It’s sad saying goodbye to these guys
Awww, I love this scene! I liked English, he was fun!
So sad to see this wonderful series end, but I loved the outtake, want some of those ear muffs.
Damn, just seeing Richard Burns’ name makes me upset! And it makes me remember all that Nick angst (so glad that’s over)
Thank you, Abi, for this wonderful series.
Cute deleted scene
What a fantastic surprise! I was wondering about English showing up to help with the bed. Reading this after having read the book, though… Wow. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the cut scene.
Aww, this was so lovely! I hope English gets his own set of books. Preferably with Liam Bell. Because I’m greedy like that :D
Aija
Abi, thank you from the bottom of my fan girl heart…this was the perfect ending! Hate to see them go but it’s just so them!
OH MY GOD! I’m so happy this scene was posted here. I was wondering what had English in MD and how the thing with the bed went down. <3
I am having such mixed feelings! I want the series to go on forever but they so deserved their Happily Ever After. I’ll just look forward to seeing them in The Sidewinder Series.
Well, that explains the friend that helped him with the bed! I’m glad that you decided to cut this scene because I think it made the related reveal THAT much better because it comes out of nowhere. Great job, Abi!
Wish this series could just carry on, hope we might see zane and ty in the sidewinder books or at least hear how there doing :)
I love English. Particularly how he’s just going along with Ty’s silly little plans. That’s dangerous, John!
Thank you for the cut scene. Very interesting.
I really enjoy your writing. Thank you.
I love Ty and Zane so much – I’m going to miss them!
Loved it …
Thank you !!!
Wishing that it wasn’t the final book. Sometime I will finish it, I just don’t know I’m ready to say goodbye yet.
Ah ha! So this is how English ended up helping Ty… in more ways that we knew! Thank you Abi, for a wonderful series.
Wow… it’s been a long, wonderful, wild trip, hasn’t it? I’m loving having the latest book, but so sad that it’s the last…!!! Why does it have to be the last one??? OK… I know why, but I’m still gonna cry about it!
Thanks for the scene
Thanks so MUCH for this scene! Fills in the blank about how the row home was bug-free post wedding.
No,no, no. Please I need a book 10. Love these guys.
I loved the cut scene. Great detail and more grins on moving the bed. Nice to see John English and what angst it would have caused Ty. I absolutely love how all the mysteries and open threads were all woven together in Crash and Burn.
I love Ty and Zane and hope the muses whisper in the future. Crash and Burn was the perfect ending to the Cut & Run series. Great story, great characters and lots of emotion. Read it straight through & will reread many times. Awesome book. Thank you Abi for Ty, Zane and the Cut and Run verse. Love it all.
Love that reasoning! Great final two quotes!
Loved the cut scene, thanks again the book was fantastic
I love this cut scene so much! This is fantastic!
I love the image of Ty in those ear muffs. Is adorable an appropriate word to describe that? Well, that’s what I’ll call it.
I love this! Too bad it had to be cut. :/
I love getting these little cut scenes, the little bits setting up the idea of a traitor and ty’s reaction are particularly painful knowing what is coming.
Loved the post. This series was what got me interested in the world of M/M literature. Well, after fanfiction that is. I know they say all good things must end, but I certainly hate to see it coming. I can’t wait to read this.
These cut scenes are like presents to your readers. Thanks!
I can’t wait to start this book. I’ve loved this series from the beginning. I hate to see it end, but will continue to read Sidewinder.
Sorry to see the boys go. Loved this series.
I’ve fallen in love with Ty and Zane. I’m so excited to read this final installment. Unfortunately I’m still playing catch up with the series as I was late to the game. But it’s been an incredible journey, that’s for sure!
Thank you so much for the great cut scene. I love this series and will be rereading it often.
Omygosh! Ohmygosh!
Discount hot chocolate. Been there, Ty.
Great scene! Thanks for sharing it. :)
Loved that deleted scene. I would love to see more of English, seems like the type of guy I would like. Thanks for sharing that scene!
Thanks for sharing this scene with us :)
Such a great cut scene! Thanks so much!
I love the idea of earmuffs as an indicator of emotional trauma (although I do love earmuffs).
I still don’t want to say goodbye, but I am glad to know Ty and Zane are happy.
Love it! Great scene. I can see why it may have been cut (I liked the element of surprise overall rather than hear John put thoughts into Ty’s head), but it would’ve been cool to see John in the book. Thanks for the extra look!
Loved the extra scene!
Loved the book , sorry to see the series end.
Great cut scene!!
I don’t want this series to end!!!
I am going to miss these two soo much!
I enjoyed this scene a lot. I love reading cut scenes! It’s like the geeky DVD extra part of a book or series. For the record, I am one of those geeks that will watch a two hour documentary about the making of a two hour movie.
Can’t wait to get caught up on the series. (I keep hoping for the continuation of them in Audiobooks.)
I am going to miss the boys soooooooooooooooo much :/
I loved this scene. Thanks for sharing it with us.
I’m going to bookmark this so I can come back and read it after I read the last book. Thank you for the cut scene!
Love English, maybe we can meet him again in a Sidewinder Story? ;)
Great scene…loved it! Thanks for the extra!
[THIS COMMENT HAS SPOILERS!]
Oh my god I love this scene! I do see why you might have decided not to include it in the final book, though… Nick’s actions have a much stronger impact on Ty and the reader if you don’t have this bit of foreshadowing. But I do love that English and Ty are drinking buddies, and their master plan to get the new bed ;)
nice scene

Nice scene. Loved Crash & Burn!
Neat cut scene – too bad it got cut – as I did like John English.
Very nice scene tho,I haven’t read Crash & Burn yet. It’s in the queue and I can’t wait to read it.
Great scene, loved the book.
Haha love it.
This scene kills me! LOL!
And then??? and then????? It can’t all be over if you keep adding cut scenes…that’s my take on it and ain’t nobody changing my mind. :)
Love the extra scene! Thank you so much!
Love the extra scene, wish there was another book.
Love this! Loved John English, always felt like Ty could use a cuddle from him so I’m glad they stayed in touch.
Oh, this is lovely! Gah, the foreshadowing is cruel, but so good.
SO freaking glad that I didn’t miss this! I love that you share things like this!
Avidly reading it now…don’t want it to end! It’s been my favorite series from the beginning.
So sad the series is ending but so excited to read this book!
I loved this scene between Ty and English. Nice to see people from other books be brought back, even if it’s just for a laugh.
Great scene!!!
Omg I love Ty! I just love this whole series!! So sad it’s ending – please say it isn’t so?!!
I’m not ready to let them go! I’m so going to miss them.
Really sorry to see this series end, but at the same time curious to see what other books Abi will write
Fabulous thank you.
Great scene! Thank you! I will miss these boys so much!
When I saw this cut scene (didnt read it just saw it) before reading Crash & Burn I got excited that English was going to be in the book. I really liked him in Ball & Chain but when he didnt make a really appearance I was disappointed. This made it all better, so I am good now. Also I just finished C&B last night. Started it at 9 pm due to not getting off work until 8:30 and finally finishing my re-read of the series (and Sidewinder) a few hours earlier. I completed book nine at 2:30 am.. I might have some regrets this morning.
I love the scene! Thank you Abi for this!
THANK YOU ABI – what a great scene
Wow. Thanks for this scene!
this scene rocked!!
Thanks for all the years of wonderful reading, abi!!
Great cut scene! Thanks!
Ooo, what a fun scene. Thanks so much for sharing!
yay more! i needed this after finishing Crash & Burn.
Aww, I love this cut scene! It’s brilliant. I can completely see why it was cut, it works so much better in hindsight than it would have in the main story, but I’m so glad we get to read it now! Thank you so much!
Haha, this is awesome! Is it still canon and all? I’m glad to kn ow how all this happened lol. I like English :’) Thank you for sharing, Abi <3
Loved the cut scene!
That is… such a Ty plan. I love it.
I loved the cut scene. It is so very Ty.
Thank you for sharing this cut scene, I loved it!
This book, like all before, was fabulous!! Thanks for bringing Ty & Zane’s story to life, Abi & sharing so much with us, like this cut scene :)
