What I like most about GRL
Hi, everyone *waves*
I want to start by thanking The Novel Approach for hosting me today and for all of you who are taking the time to read my post!
GRL is in October, and I, like many others, am counting down the days and running around before that time. Some of you might know me as Reese Dante. This will be my fourth GRL—my third as an organizer. I’m anxious this year—more so than usual. I’m sure most people would have kicked the anxiety out the window by now considering the number of years in attendance thus far, but this will also be my first as a Featured Author.
What do I like most about GRL?
The people. This is the main reason I love GRL and why I spend months and endless hours helping to organize the retreat. It is, by far, the largest, most welcoming environment I’ve ever walked into. My face hurts by the end of the day from smiling so much. And I love that. I travel to GRL with my hubby, and for all the social butterfly elements I lack, he’s got tons. He will walk up to a newbie and recruit them to help out if needed or just randomly walk up to a stranger and strike up a conversation. He has no shame and I love that. But that’s a pretty good way to summarize many of the GRL veterans who attend. They have huge smiles and love being around others at the retreat. You can easily find them lounging around with their computer or hanging out on the couch talking to others about a book or the costume they’re going to be wearing at the party Saturday night.
I’m not a hugely social person. Yeah, I know, shocker. :) It’s easy for me to find comfort behind a computer. I’m somewhat of a loner and have no problem being in my quiet space for hours at a time, and that’s what I do on a daily basis. So when I’m in a social setting with hundreds of people, it can take a little adjustment. Thankfully, I keep busy with Organizer duties so I don’t stress too much about the social elements all the time. I’m usually running around for a better part of the day. But I do take the time to go up to that person I’ve been wanting to meet, especially if I know they will be attending or if I’ve recently worked with them on a project and haven’t met them.
All that being said, I’m excited for GRL. So if you see me and want to say “hi” please, don’t be shy. Come up to me. You might be surprised at how talkative I can be if you strike up a conversation. And by the way, I’m totally fine with hugs.
See you at GRL!

Blurb: Cole Renzo thinks his greatest challenge is to behave for the remainder of his term at Halfway House. Until he meets his new boss, Ty Calloway, a man who ticks off every box on Cole’s list of interests.
A sought-after restorer and customizer of exotic and collectible cars, Ty had enough confidence to command what he wanted in life, until one fateful night changed everything. Almost two years later, he’s slowly rebuilding his life with great control. He’s defied the odds and works tirelessly to be the man he once was—but he still feels broken.
Cole’s candor and unfiltered personality awaken Ty’s barely-remembered desire to greet each new day with a smile, while Ty’s unwavering acceptance of Cole’s quirks and brash humor makes Cole feel as if he fits in for the first time in far too long. When a nemesis threatens Ty’s personal restoration and the things he holds dear, Cole is determined to protect their relationship, even if that means sacrificing everything he’s worked so hard to achieve.
But Ty will have to let his guard down, surrender control, and admit he needs Cole first, even if that puts himself at risk of breaking beyond repair.

About Jaime Reese: Jaime Reese is the alter ego of an artist who loves the creative process of writing, just not about herself. Fiction is far more interesting. She has a weakness for broken, misunderstood heroes and feels everyone deserves a chance at love and life. An avid fan of a happy ending, she believes those endings acquired with a little difficulty are more cherished.
Halfway House is a really great series. Looking forward to book 4.
