CHARACTER INTERVEW: STUART
- You’re back home from studying in London. How are you coping with leaving the big city behind?
- What can I say? It’s nice to come home for a visit, and my mum’s great, but I’ve always planned to head back to London. The opportunities are broader in London, and I want to use the PhD I spent so long working on. Being back in Cornwall, and being by the sea is giving me time to recharge and stop my bank account bleeding completely dry. Hanging out at the Minack Theatre is always fun, and there are other incentives since there’s usually a few friendly members of the amateur dramatics groups who travel down to put on a play.
- What did you really feel when you first set eyes on Ryan?
- Ryan is seriously gorgeous, with his blond curls and cheek bones that scream to be licked. I must admit he struck me as being a bit shallow, but I jumped to a conclusion I had no right to. I might have called him a stuck up London ponce.
- Favourite childhood memory?
- Mum used to take me to the Minack several times during the summer, but my first vivid memory of the place was when I was about seven. I don’t remember the play, but I remember a pod of dolphins stealing the show as the sun set.
- Ideal date?
- No such things as an ideal date – it really depends on who you’re with. No point taking someone who’s really uncomfortable eating at posh restaurants to the Ivy and likewise, if you’ve got someone who hates heights, then it’s best to avoid the London Eye – I learnt that one the hard way!
- One thing from your back story the reader won’t know from reading the book?
- I played trumpet at school. My mum always said I was full of hot air. Mind you, none of my partners have ever complained about my blowing technique *grin*
Blurb: A Treading Boards Novella
A trip down to Cornwall is just what Ryan Penniford needs to recover from the daily grind of London life. Ryan and his amateur dramatics society, the Sarky Players, are traveling to Porthcurno to perform at the stunning Minack Theatre.
Stuart Box has returned to Cornwall after earning his PhD, and is killing time as he looks for a job back in London. Spending time with Ryan from the Sarky Players is a great way to take his mind off things.
During their first meeting, sparks fly, but not in a good way, and they must work to get past their initial hostilities to discover they have great off-stage chemistry. Stuart soon learns Ryan is not the superficial man people assume he is, and Stuart likes what he sees. The feeling is entirely mutual.
Pity Ryan is only visiting for two weeks, but both men want to see where this holiday romance might take them.

Sounds interesting. New to me author. I can’t wait to read the book.
Dude favorite vacation spot is the yaoicon anime convention. It may one day change to Japan or England but somehow I don’t think so. But perhaps Otome Lane and Akihabara will be super amazing and somehow out-do con.
